Jacob “HisWattson” McMillin recently announced that he was retiring, but it seems he’s changed his mind and is coming back after just 4 months away. He will be returning to the Apex Legends lineup at FURIA.

HisWattson is one of the most famous and greatest Apex players of all time and has celebrated various successes with FURIA.

The American was signed by FURIA last year, where he found immediate success – in his first international LAN, he helped FURIA to a second place finish and earned the honor of being named Most Valuable Player.

Why did HisWattson resign?

In the summer, he surprised his fans when he announced his retirement. Fans couldn’t quite understand the decision, after all he was ultra-successful and at the peak of his career.

He explained that his outlook on the game had negatively affected his abilities and he wanted to return to what made him happiest: playing ranked matches and being a joker on his stream. He emphasized that his resignation had nothing to do with FURIA’s recent performance. He remained with FURIA as a content creator. But after 4 months, the world looks very different again and he has decided to play in tournaments again and return to FURIA as a player.

Return to FURIA

FURIA has already drawn up the lineup for 2024 and attentive fans immediately noticed that HisWattson is part of the lineup.

Alongside HisWattson, Keon “Keon” Berghout and Ryan “ImMadness” Schlieve are part of the new team. Keon and ImMadness played together on Team Already There. Coach Jamison “Jxmo” Moore (formerly known as PVPX) will also remain with the team.In a tweet, the player explained: “I’ve matured and learned a lot about myself over the last few months and I’m looking forward to playing again.”

This year did not go very well for FURIA. After their fantastic performance at the 2022 ALGS World Cup, of all things, things went downhill. The performances failed and the team fell just short of qualifying for the Split 1 playoffs.

In Split 2, things went a little better, but in the playoffs the performances were very disappointing, so HisWattson considered resigning. When he left, his organization then had to bring in Mac “Albralelie” Beckwith as a replacement, who played with the lineup in the NA LCQ for the 2023 ALGS World Championship – but they didn’t have success there either.

With HisWattson returning to the lineup, FURIA is now hoping for a fresh start, after all he is a top player who has what it takes to give the team’s morale a huge boost.
