The last few weeks in the offices of the reigning champions of the last CS:GO Major, Virtus.pro, are worrying. The elimination of the RMRs team for the Paris Major may cause a restructuring of their lineup for the rest of the season. Moreover, we already know the first sacrifice of the team, and, of course, there is no surprise with it.

Aleksandr “KaiR0N-” Anashkin is the first player to leave the Virtus.pro lineup after the team’s debacle in recent months. This move comes just days after he was benched in the middle of the European RMRs. However, there are many rumors that this will not be the only departure the team will announce in the coming days.

Virtus.pro announces the departure of KaiR0N- by “mutual agreement.”

Last Friday, the popular Russian organization, Virtus.pro, announced the departure of KaiR0N- from their CS:GO lineup.

While this departure was fully expected and even more so after the Virtus.pro-CEO’s statement that KaiR0N- did not know how to handle the pressure on stage, the player showed great maturity by expressing only good words for his former teammates.

In Twitlonger, KaiR0N- has only words of thanks for his teammates and organization members. The player points out that thanks to them, he has made this leap to the highest competitive level. He also stresses that he is now a free agent and is willing to listen to offers from any team in any region of the world, claiming that he knows three languages (English, Russian, and German).

Finally, the player apologizes to all his fans for the team’s bad sports results.

Consequences of Virtus.pro missing out on the Major

The fact that Virtus.pro (Outsiders) will miss the last Major in the CS:GO era will bring some consequences around their lineup for the rest of the season. According to Russian CS:GO leaker OverDrive, the next person stepping off the VP ship would be Aleksei “Qikert” Golubev.

Qikert has been part of the VP’s starting lineup since December 2019, and there is no doubt that he was one of the key pillars of the team’s victory at the IEM Rio Major 2022. While it is true that his main role in the team is not to stand out with big plays or many kills, his sacrifices are of great help to the team’s victory.

Undoubtedly, if this comes to fruition, he would be a very difficult player to replace. However, with the amount of talent in Russia, likely, they will quickly get a replacement.

There is no doubt that KaiR0N- still has a bright future ahead of him, as he is a very young player on the CS:GO scene. That’s why it should only be a matter of time before the player gets a new home in another team at the highest competitive level. On the other hand, Qikert would be a spectacular addition to any team needing server experience.

Remember that Virtus.pro jumped ship from IEM Rio 2023, claiming they needed to prepare their squad for the rest of the season. So, now we can only wait for the official information from the organization regarding their CS:GO lineup.
