Ahead of the first Level 1 tournament in the new CS2 era, we have some not-so-good news for MOUZ fans. After having some problems getting the Australian visa in time, Jimi “Jimpphat” Salo will not be able to play the IEM Sydney 2023.
However, this does not mean that Jimpphat will completely say goodbye to the tournament. If he gets the visa and the team is still alive, the player will travel to Australia to join his teammates.
This is unpleasant news for Jimpphat, MOUZ, and the team’s fans, as this will be the first tournament at the highest competitive level to be played in CS2. I mean, no one in Tier 1 would want to miss it, even though the game still has a lot of bugs to fix.
MOUZ announces that Jimpphat will not travel to Australia with the team due to visa issues
Through a post on their official Twitter/X account, MOUZ announced that Jimpphat will not attend IEM Sydney due to visa issues traveling to Australia. In addition, they announced that Bram “Nexius” Campana will replace Jimpphat in the team’s lineup.

However, if Jimpphat gets the visa in time and his teammates are still alive in the tournament, Finn will travel to Australia to join the team.
There is no doubt that this is a complicated time for MOUZ, as the team is coming off the heels of closing out the CS:GO era with an extraordinary upset victory in the EPL S18. As a result, the team climbed to fourth place in the world rankings and, of course, put them in the tag of favorites to win this tournament.
About Nexius
Now, for those who don’t know, Nexius is part of MOUZ NXT, MOUZ’s academy team, which has played its entire career in Level 2 or 3 tournaments. Since his arrival in the organization, Nexius has a 1.04 Rating and was previously part of LowLandLions and EC Brugge. This means we will see Nexius debuting at Sydney’s highest competitive level.
Let’s remember that MOUZ is in Group A of the tournament and will have to face the likes of NaVi, Team Vitality, and FaZe Clan. In addition, they will also face BetBoom, GamerLegion, Apeks, and Vertex, the latter being the team’s first opponent in the tournament.
