Bryan “Jimbo” Sabman, a former professional CDL player, was banned in the middle of a LAN game in the final of the Challengers division. In addition, his team, Orbit, also decided to forfeit the rest of the matches they had on the day after this situation.

There is no doubt that this is an extreme and complicated situation because the fact that Activision’s anti-cheat system bans a LAN player in the middle of a game attracts a lot of attention.

Jimbo banned in the middle of a LAN game

Jimbo and Orbit were playing a game against OMiT at the start of the Call of Duty Challengers 2023 Finals in Group B. After three contested maps, where OMiT had a 2-1 series lead, Jimbo was suddenly banned on Al Bagra Fortress (Hardpoint).

While it is true that many rival players started accusing Jimbo of being a Cheater, the tournament officials allowed the player to finish the series with his team.

After learning about this situation, Jimbo immediately posted a Tweet mentioning that he did not understand why Activision banned his account. However, according to different reports by Breaking Point, Activision confirmed that the player was using hacks in the game.

Finally, the organizers decided to replay the fourth map of the series, and OMiT ended up taking the victory by 3-1. Then, the team was to play in Elimination Match against D1 Gaming LATAM, but they decided to give up on the tournament without publishing the reason.

Thomas “GRVTY” Malin, one of Jimbo’s teammates in Orbit, said in a Tweet that they were disqualified from the tournament. In addition, the player also mentioned that he does not know for sure if it is a legitimate ban, but it is clear that this situation will affect his entire reputation.

The community accuses Jimbo of using hacks

Following the announcement of Orbit’s disqualification from the tournament, many in the COD community accused Jimbo of using cheat frequently. Some players refer to his level of online play compared to the level he demonstrated with Legion last season in the Call of Duty League.

On the other hand, we have Doug “Censor” Martin, a Boston Breach Acadamia player who said that Jimo was a cheater and that he had not said anything out of respect for GRVTY and for lack of evidence.

Even, Giancarlos “oJohnny” Carrasco, who played with Jimbo at Paris Legion in last season’s CDL and at the start of 2023 in Challengers, made mention of the disparity Jimbo had in terms of his level of play on LAN and online.

For now, there is no official statement regarding the banning of Jimbo by Activision. However, if the news is confirmed, the player will likely be banned indefinitely from official Call of Duty tournaments.
