The simulator iRacing will soon include the Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto in its repertoire of circuits. Through several pictures showing the works in the Andalusian circuit, iRacing has announced it through social networks. We are talking about the second circuit of Spain in one of the best simulators.

About iRacing

iRacing is one of the most innovative simulators of the moment. It includes a high level of sensory realism and is one of the most technologically advanced physics engines in the sim-racing industry.

On the other hand, iRacing distinguishes itself from other simulators by its accessibility and exclusivity. It is a pay-monthly simulator, similar to other MMORPGs such as World of Warcraft or the famous Final Fantasy XIV, where players pay monthly to access the game.

Other simulators, such as rFactor 2 and Assetto Corsa Competizione, are maintained by both sales and DLC (downloadable content). In the case of iRacing, certain cars are included in the standard package, but additional vehicles must be purchased.

Jerez Circuit

Including Jerez in simulators is nothing new; for example, it has long been part of Assetto Corsa. It is even used to simulate the real championship during the virtual race weekend organized by Club Simracing in Spain for events such as the Saxo 8v Cup.

It has been around since the late 1990s when it was still part of the Formula 1 calendar. Its last appearances were in 1994 and 1997 when it took over as the European Grand Prix of Buenos Aires and Estoril.

Currently, iRacing offers more than 100 tracks with various configurations, bringing the total to 350, focusing on permanent circuits and paying particular attention to American circuits, both road and oval. Currently, only Circuit de Catalunya is available.

In addition, it is common to see the touring car, GT, or IndyCar drivers competing in sim-racing, with iRacing currently being one of the most popular games.

At the end of February 2022, before the actual race, the virtual 24 Hours of Daytona was held with the iRacing base. Along with endurance racing, iRacing also features NASCAR racing, single-seater racing, rallycross, off-road, touring cars, GT3, and even Australian Supercars.
