Only a few hours remain until the official start of the League of Legends competitive scene’s offseason, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have different reports and rumors about what could happen.

Many players’ contracts in the LoL scene expire on November 21, so there will be chaos in all leagues worldwide. In the LCS, we have a breaking report that Choi “huhi” Jae-hyun will leave the Golden Guardians squad to sign with NRG for LCS 2024.

These rumors have increased in the last few hours, considering that, most likely, we will have a lot of moves in NA teams.

Reports claim that huhi will sign with NRG for the LCS 2024

According to a report from LEC Wooloo for Sheep Esports, huhi has reportedly agreed to leave Golden Guardians and sign with NRG for the upcoming LCS season.

Huhi is a 28-year-old veteran player who has been a part of the LCS since his early days as a professional player. He has been part of important squads such as CLG, 100 Thieves, and Golden Guardians during this time.

However, in 2023, the South Korean/French player had some problems maintaining a constant performance, leading him to jump from 100T to Golden Guardians.

However, this is not to say that the season was bad for huhi and Golden Guardians; quite the contrary. Let’s remember that the team was surprised by eliminating FlyQuest, the favorites to win the Spring Split, and even finished in second place in that Split. Then, in the Summer Split, the team kept the form and got fourth place, which led the team to qualify for the WQS 2023, that is, a kind of playoff where they would face a team from the LEC for the last place in the Worlds 2023.

However, the team arrived in South Korea to play only one series, as Team BDS annihilated them with a score of 0- 3 and sent them back to NA.

About NRG

On the other hand, we have to be clear that NRG’s return to the LCS was somewhat complicated, as they finished in fifth place in the Spring Split 2023.

On the other hand, the team recovered completely for the Summer Split 2023, as they showed a spectacular level of play that led them to win the title of Split Champion. As a result, the team qualified directly to the Swiss Stage of Worlds 2023.

Finally, at Worlds 2023, NRG made an excellent impression by being the only team from the LCS and LEC to qualify for the Quarterfinals.

There is no doubt that if NRG completes Huhi’s signing, he will add that touch of experience to the team and help them be at the top of the LCS at the beginning of 2024.

We can only wait for the league’s offseason to start on November 21 to determine whether these rumors are true or just mere reports.
