FIFA, like any game, is unfortunately plagued by hackers. One player has been hit particularly hard when a hacker stole six million coins from him. Electronic Arts reviewed the case and gave the FIFA 23 player a ridiculous compensation of 3,000 coins.

FIFA 23 players have complained en masse to EA after the company’s support team offered a player nearly 3,000 coins for claiming he lost over six million coins after his account was hacked.

Hacks in FIFA

The anti-cheat function has long been the focus of attention and discussions because EA is taking stricter action against cheaters in the hope of finally bringing hackers under control and better protecting its own players from such attacks.

However, there are still hackers who mess with the game and wreak havoc. As we reported yesterday, there have recently been PC exploits where entire teams have been made invisible in FUT Champs and accounts have been hacked again. A hack even stole over 200 million coins from a FUT trader.

EA awards minimal compensation to players

Meanwhile, an affected player has revealed that his case has been officially reviewed. A hacker had stolen players worth 6 million coins from him. Despite this, the victim only received minimal compensation of around 2500 coins from EA – which of course bears no comparison to his previous number of coins.

Community is angry

The Reddit post, which was upvoted hundreds of times on the FIFA subreddit, shows several examples of high-value cards stolen by hackers. These include special cards for Kylian Mbappe, Paul Pogba, Xabi Alonso, and many other popular players. For comparison, the Kylian Mbappe POTM Squad Building Challenge alone requires around two million coins across consoles and PC platforms. The original post said, “Hackers disposed of almost 6 million worth of players, EA compensated me with 2,474 coins.”

The comments made it very clear which side the community was on and while many found words of comfort for the player, EA didn’t fare very well. A lot of people were disappointed and angry that EA didn’t do better and it wouldn’t be surprising if one or the other boycotted the title.

The original post confirmed that the coins weren’t stolen, so his balance remains at 40,000 after his account was returned. However, the best SBC players he had collected are gone.

So far, EA has remained silent about the incident and has not yet commented on it.
