Fragster Dota 2 League: Start of a new adventure

After the extremely exciting and worth-seeing matches in the Dota 2 Open Qualifier two weeks ago, the first Fragster Dota 2 League Season is just around the corner. We are very happy to offer the German Dota 2 scene a well-organized league and a place to pursue their passion.

When does the Fragster Dota 2 League start?

The Fragster Dota 2 League starts on Monday, February 6, 2023, at 6:30 PM CET with the match of eSport Rhein-Neckar against ACL-Gaming. The first two games of the first round will be played on Monday and the next two will follow on Thursday.

The four best teams from the last ESL Meisterschaft were also invited to join the four winners from the qualifier: Downhill, BCY, Best Ally Bait, and ACL Gaming.

Fragster Dota 2 League format

For our new Dota 2 league, we have chosen the same format that has been used successfully in our CS:GO league for several seasons. The teams will play a Bo2 once a week on seven matchdays. We chose Mondays and Thursdays for the match in order to not disturb the broadcast of the CS:GO league. Therefore, the time required for the teams remains manageable, and for you, the enthusiastic viewers, to watch a different experience almost every day of the week! At the end of the season, the top four teams in the league will play a playoff tournament where it will be decided who takes home the majority of the €2000 prize pool.

New adventure

This marks Fragster’s first experience with Dota 2, so there might be a few bugs to creep in. However, we are very excited about the opportunity to host this league and to work with the teams. With the collapse of the ESL Meisterschaft in the Dota 2 area, we want to offer the DACH teams an opportunity to continue to pursue their favorite esports title at a highly competitive level. We hope to be able to organize a successful and exciting season together with the teams and with the spectators. We are looking forward to the season and wish all teams GL & HF!
