Apex Legends – Guild Esports Announces New Roster

Esports organization and lifestyle brand, Guild Esports, continue to enter new markets. This week, the org announced the formation of an Apex Legends roster, which will become Guild’s sixth professional team. Apex Legends, the hero shooter title from Respawn Entertainment, is going from strength to strength, with a number of new teams having been created of late.

The roster acquired by Guild sits inside the top 10 in Europe. The tema is made up by Matej “MaTaFe” Fekonja from Slovenia, Juho “Silta” Sillanpaa from Finland and Younes “Horizxon” Elkherrat from the UK. The trio have signed 12-month contracts with Guild, although the org has the option to extend them for another year. As part of the deal, the players will receive an annual salary, as well as performance-based bonuses, as is now standard in Esports.

When Will We See the Team in Action?

Fans will not have to wait long to see the trio in Guild colors, with the team set to compete at the newly-formed Apex Legends Global Series, which gets underway on October 16. With a total prize pool of $5 million, Guild will be hoping to receive a return on their investment immediately. With the org having a top coaching department in place, it could well be that their new roster challenges for the leading honors.

Apex Legends regularly features in the top 5 most-watched videos on Twitch, demonstrating the game’s significant growth over the last 12 months. There are now over 100 million franchise players across the globe, with such stats having undoubtedly influenced Guild’s decision to enter the scene. Speaking on the announcement, new player MaTaFe stated that:
