According to different reports that have been published in the last hours, one of the legends of CS:GO, Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo, or “The Professor,” as we all know him, is among the candidates to lead FURIA’s lineup from the end of 2023.

Today, FURIA is the best South American CS:GO team, and, without a doubt, we can say that it is TOP 2 in the entire American continent. However, the team has not managed to have consistency in tournaments at the highest competitive level, and there are more and more disappointments than joys.

On the other hand, we all know that FalleN is capable of having a fully competitive team, and, despite his age, the player continues to demonstrate amazing skill with his AWP, and, most importantly, his experience as an IGL within the game is spectacular. Therefore, a FURIA formed with the best Brazilian players today would be a very powerful team that would quickly be among the best in the world.

Reports claim that FalleN would join FURIA by the end of 2023.

According to a report published by Dust2 Brazil on its official blog, experienced Brazilian AWPer and CS:GO legend FalleN would be in talks to join FURIA at the end of 2023. All this with an eye on the transition of teams to CS2 because who better than FalleN, a player who went from CS 1.6 to Source and then to CS:GO.

Now, the question on everyone’s mind is who will be sacrificed; the answer to that, according to reports, is that Andrei “arT” Piovezan would leave the team and become part of Imperial’s lineup. Moreover, there is talk of trade between the two players in the dead season, i.e., at the end of 2023.

However, it is also very possible that FalleN will decide to bring this move forward given the launch of CS2 because if he will lead this project, what better way than to do it from the beginning.

FURIA Esports and its leadership problems

While it is true that FURIA remains on top in the North American region, the Brazilian squad has been trying to stay alive on the international scene during the last few months. We have watched as the team manages to qualify for international events by sweeping their region, but the team deflates when they get to the main event.

With these rumors, the team has likely identified that their main problem within the game is leadership, which is currently assumed by arT. On the other hand, these are only rumors about what FURIA might be planning for the near future. Still, if the deal with FalleN does not materialize, they will likely continue their search for an IGL to straighten out the team’s direction.

FalleN and his desire to retire

While this news may cause a lot of emotions within the Brazilian community and even the gaming community in general, it is worth remembering that FalleN expressed his desire to retire at the end of the 2023 season.

Let’s remember that FalleN has been part of the best South American teams in the history of CS:GO, some of them winning Luminosity Gaming and SK Gaming, where he led them to two consecutive Major victories. However, currently FalleN is not in its best form, but this also has a lot to do with their current team, Imperial, which only competes in Tier 2 events.

Now, FalleN still has some important matches to play with Imperial, and it remains to be seen if he can stay at the highest competitive level, considering that he plans to “retire.”
