The winner of tomorrow’s semifinal between Heroic and Sangal advances to face Astralis in the championship game of Blast Premier: Fall Showdown 2022.

Following their respective victories in the quarterfinals, Heroic and Sangal are still in the race to represent the European region at the Blast Premier: Fall Final  2022, which will be held in Copenhagen next month. A day ago, Astralis and Vitality also advanced to the semifinals. However, Vitality are no longer in the running as the European heavyweights lost to Astralis in the semifinal.

Astralis upset Vitality to advance to the Grand Final

With a stunning victory over Vitality in a best-of-three semifinal series, Astralis has secured their place in the BLAST Showdown championship match. The squad recovered from a disappointing loss at Nuke by dominating the French team on Dust 2 and Inferno to maintain their chances of making the Blast Premier: Fall Final 2022. The Danish team’s biggest test will come on Sunday when they compete for a berth in the Fall Final against the victor of the game between Sangal and Heroic. Despite having a quiet series by his standards, Benjamin “blameF” Bremerpiled up 65 kills and 94.5 ADR throughout the course of the match.

Sangal dispatched BIG to survive the quarterfinals

Following intense battles on Dust2 and Inferno, where each team took one map, it was down to Vertigo as the decider. With a 15-10 advantage on the decisive map, the German team was well-positioned to win the series. Team Sangal, on the other hand, recovered and put on an impenetrable defense, denying the German team any points and sending the series into overtime. With the wind in their sails, Sangal outplayed the German side 19-16 in overtime to claim the thrilling series 2-1 and advance to the semifinals. With this heartbreaking defeat, BIG’s journey at the Fall Showdown comes to an end.

With 23 kills each, the duo boosted their team to a 16-9 win and set up a semifinal match against Sangal.
