The VALORANT Champions 2023 emotions continue, and after the second day of playoff matches, we have DRX, and Evil Geniuses advanced to the tournament’s semifinals after defeating Bilibili Gaming and EDward Gaming, respectively.
In addition, DRX and EG join LOUD and Paper Rex as the four teams are still alive in the VALORANT Champions Upper Bracket. As a result, the EMEA and China teams will now play for their lives in the Lower Bracket of these playoffs.
Let’s see what happened in the DRX and Evil Geniuses matches in the VALORANT Champions 2023 playoffs.
DRX crush Bilibili Gaming by 2-0
In the first match of this second day of playoffs, we enjoyed an excellent victory of DRX over Bilibili Gaming by 2-0. While it is true that both maps were very well contested, there is no doubt that DRX was always the favorite to win.
The DRX and Bilibili Gaming series started in Lotus, the Chinese team’s map pick, where we witnessed a really interesting and surprising match. In the first half, Bilibili Gaming started with a devastating pace of play and got an impressive partial victory by 10-2. When we all thought this would be a comfortable victory for the Chinese squad, DRX proved us otherwise, as they managed to win 11 consecutive rounds in the second half on their defensive side to take the victory on the first map by 13-10.
After this blow on the table, DRX took advantage to start the second map, Haven, in a great way, as they achieved a partial victory in the first half by 7-5. Then, at the change of sides, Bilibili tried to wake up, and they evened the score by 9-9. However, this was insufficient, and they fell by 9-13.

Evil Geniuses apply a reverse sweep against EDward Gaming
The second match of this day left us with a spectacular victory for Evil Geniuses, who had to apply a reverse sweep against EDG to advance to the semifinals of the VALORANT Champions 2023 Upper Bracket.
The series began in Split, EDward Gaming’s map pick, where the Chinese squad started with an excellent level of play to take a partial victory by 8-4 in the first half. Then, the North Americans did not stay with their arms crossed at the change of sides. After an 8-4 score, they equalized the map 12-12. Finally, EDG won the first two Overtime rounds to take the victory by 14-12.
Things changed radically in the second map, Ascent. Evil Geniuses started with an impressive pace of play to take an 8-4 victory in the first half. EDG could not do much to change sides, as they only managed to stop one offensive from the North Americans. As a result, EG evened the series 1-1 after an excellent 13-5 victory.
Finally, the teams moved to Pearl, where we had almost a mirror image of what happened on the second map. In the first half, EG managed an 8-4 partial victory on their defensive side for the second consecutive map. Then, at the change of sides, the North American squad’s offense again crushed the Chinese to take a 13-5 victory. Finally, they sealed their ticket to the tournament semifinals.
