EA Sports is starting with all the preparations for the first year, where its popular football simulation game will be renamed from FIFA to EA Sports FC.
The company first has moved its chips to start talks for a €550 million deal with the English Premier League to obtain all its rights. This contract is said to exceed the original deal’s value.
According to Sky Sports, EA and Premier League reached an agreement
Sky Sports detailed on its blog that last February 10 Premier League clubs were informed about this agreement. This is expected to generate more than €90 million annually for the teams.
The 20 Premier League clubs were briefed at a meeting on Friday that a new six-year partnership with EA Sports worth about £488m is close to being finalised https://t.co/w9jB0oegLu

In exchange for this incredible amount of money, EA will retain all the rights to some of the most popular teams in the world:
- Manchester City
- Arsenal
- Liverpool
There is no doubt that this deal reflects the power of the Premier League, which is considered by many to be the best soccer league in the world. It also proves to be the most profitable football league in the world thanks to its lucrative TV deals.
As a result, the Premier League now boasts top-level stars in different teams, such as Manchester City striker Erling Haaland.
The new agreement highlights the Premier League’s strength, which has grown to be the most wealthy league in the world due to its hefty TV contracts. This has turned the Premier League into an international powerhouse, allowing it to snap up big stars like Erling Haaland.
EA doesn’t want to pay a million-dollar settlement to FIFA
According to reports from Sky Sports, the successful and popular video game company EA Sports is looking for new deals to continue its franchise development. They have claimed they do not want to use their name to pay the millionaire money that FIFA asks for.
As happened with LaLiga Santander in Spain, where EA Sports is now the main sponsor of LaLiga competitions from the 23/24 season. The company wants to do the same with the popular and more profitable Premier League.

There is no doubt that this is an extraordinary deal for EA Sports due to the great brand recognition that the Premier League has. Let’s remember that recently, EA lost the FIFA license after the group reportedly asked for close to $1 billion for the exclusive rights.
Say goodbye to FIFA; say hello to EA Sports FC
For the first time in 30 years, the football association (FIFA) and EA Sports are severing ties, and video games will now be called EA Sports FC. The franchise’s next game will not be called FIFA 24.
As we mentioned, FIFA asked to renegotiate the sponsorship and rights agreement with EA Sports, asking for an amount close to $1 billion. However, EA Sports rejected that offer and must stop using its name for future projects.
One of the great losses due to this rupture of relations is that EA Sports will not be able to use the official World Cup license, so FIFA 23 will be the last videogame with this type of content.
