Excel Esports announces Tim Reichert as new CEO

British esports organization Excel Esports announced on January 5 the appointment of Tim Reichert as its new Chief Executive Officer. He has been promoted from the position of Chief Operating Officer.

The former CEO Wouter Sleijffers will become a strategic advisor to the board, “exploring and developing growth and monetization opportunities.”

In addition, Excel has also appointed Rosenbelle Ganan as the new Director of Operations and Legal Affairs. The new director will lead the company’s operational responsibilities in London and Germany.

In the press release, Excel states that:

“Tim takes on all business responsibilities, drives the organization to new heights, and focuses on delivering the organization’s ambitions towards increased revenue, community growth, and competitive success.”

About Tim Reichert

Tim burst onto the esports scene in 1997 after co-founding SK Gaming with his brothers. After that, he dedicated himself to his second passion, soccer. Finally, he became a professional player for the Rot-Weiss Oberhausen team in Germany.

Tim Reichert first joined Excel Esports at the end of 2021 as director of esports, replacing Excel Co-founder Kieran Holmes-Darby who ventured into Formula E in January 2022.

In the summer of 2022, Tim Reichert became Execel’s COO following the management changes announced at the launch party in London.

Before his work at Excel esports, Tim Reichert also worked at FC Shalke 04 Esports, where he oversaw the growth and development of their esports lineups as Head Coach.
