Dota 2 patch 7.35 changed most of the heroes and as a result, the entire meta. We now have heroes like Lion, Faceless Void, Anti-Mage, and Rubick getting spammed again. And when it comes to win rates, Leshrac, Abaddon, Outworld Destroyer, and others are doing spectacularly well.

In this guide, I will explore some of the major nerfs introduced by Dota 2 patch 7.35. These nerfs led, at least to some extent, to the downfall of the heroes they targeted.

Major hero nerfs

Bristleback’s Viscious Goo now has a 6-stack limit when you buy the Shard. And Bristleback’s Aghs cooldown is 24s instead of 20s.

Centaur’s Hoos Stomp now deals just 90 damage at level 1 instead of 120.

Chaos Knight was further nerfed. His Chaos Strike now offers just 24% lifesteal at level 1.

Chen received some massive nerfs. Holy Persuasion can no longer help him teleport hits units to himself. And Hand of God now offers 50 less HP at each level. These nerfs are guaranteed to make the hero unpopular even at the professional level. In pubs, Chen is almost never picked. But in tournaments, he used to be quite popular. We won’t see him until the next major patch.

Dazzle’s Poison Touch now risks losing important kills because the heroes affected by it can be denied when below 25% HP. Another huge nerf for Dazzle is that Bad Juju no longer affects the cooldown of his items.

Grimstroke’s Aghanim’s Shard now offers Ink Swell just a 30% damage/heal buff. Soulbind’s cooldown is now 70 – 60s instead of 70 – 50s. This nerf was definitely needed because Grimstroke had become extremely spammed, both in pubs and professional matches. Needless to say, the hero’s level 10 and 15 talents have also been nerfed.

Invoker’s base damage was decreased by 1. This is another nerf in a long series of nerfs that have made Invoker very hard to play in the early game.

Jakiro, one of the most successful support heroes of the previous patch, has had his Dual Breath severely nerfed. Its start radius is now 150 instead of 225. The movement speed debuff is now just 25% at level 1 instead of 28%. The same goes for the attack slow nerf.

Juggernaut’s Blade Fury now deals 35 – 50 damage per tick. A tick is calculated as his attack rate x 2. In the early game, this is a big nerf, because the previous damage was 90 – 165 per second.
