Tour 2 of Dota Pro Circuit 2023 is over for Division I and Team Liquid won again in Western Europe. In Tour 1, nobody was able to beat them. This time, Gaimin Gladiators managed to upset them but then lost two matches themselves and finished second with 5 W – 2 L.

The third team that secured a ticket for the Berlin Major was Tundra Esports. The TI champion lost against Liquid and, to everyone’s surprise, Ooredoo Thunders, but managed to win the other five matches and finished third. The battle for the fourth place will be decided later today.

In most leagues, we generally see one team dominating everyone else and one or two teams getting defeated by almost everyone else. In Western Europe, the situation is a lot more complicated. The bottom five teams finished with records of 2 W – 5 L and 3 W – 4 L.

OG, for example, came close to getting relegated and now they’re fighting for a Berlin Major spot. Their run in Tour 2 of DPC 2023 was very interesting to watch but probably gave fans a lot of headaches. In the first five matches, OG only won once. Thanks to its victories against Nigma Galaxy and Entity, the team is now in a much better position.

The three teams that are fighting to avoid getting relegated are Entity, Monaspa, and Nigma. For Kuro “KuroKy” Takhasomi, this looks like the end of his career. Even if he does survive the tiebreaker, he’s going to miss the Major again. And his team does not look capable of qualifying for The International 2023.

Kuro hasn’t been at TI since 2019. If he fails again, it’s hard to believe that he will not retire from professional Dota 2. The last third of his career has been rough.

For someone who is used to getting mediocre results, it wouldn’t have been that painful. But for Kuro, who participated in three TI Grand Finals and won the Aegis of Champions in 2017 with Team Liquid, these last four years couldn’t have been any worse.

What’s strange is that he keeps trying to win with the same roster and doesn’t seem to be willing to make massive changes. Ever since he started his own esports organization, he has gone from one disappointment to another. His friend, Clement “Puppey” Ivanov, on the other hand, experienced the exact opposite.
