While it is true that the first impressions of Counter-Strike 2 and its anti-cheat system, the VAC, were really good, now everything seems to indicate that the opposite is true. One of the most active professional players in the game’s beta, Robin “ropz” Kool, shared his thoughts about the VAC and said it was a “joke.”

It’s no secret to anyone that cheaters have been the main plague of Counter-Strike since its competitive beginnings in CS 1.6. Valve, the game’s developers, have always tried to fight them, but everything seems to indicate that this will be a lifelong battle.

On the other hand, the arrival of CS2 generated many expectations since the live anti-cheat system promised by the developers seemed to be the solution to all these problems. However, this is far from reality, as the cheating problems in the game continue.

Ropz says CS2’s VAC is a “joke”

Through a post on Twitter/X, accompanied by a video, ropz denounced that VAC has a “terrible” performance, as cheaters can do “whatever they feel like” without “fear of repercussions.”

As we see in the video, the FaZe Clan rifler stands watching a player suspected of using cheats. After some dissimulation, the cheater starts taking impossible shots and following the opponents behind the walls. In addition, we also observe how the cheater walks around without “flinching” and fires headshots without aiming.

Just like ropz, the community also joined this complaint since it is claimed that the VAC system and VAC Live are not working as they should. On the other hand, if this escalates and Premier Mode becomes full of cheaters, there will most likely be the inevitable departure of players to third-party platforms such as ESEA and FACEIT.

Just like this user, there are over 300 others who are commenting on ropz’s X post, as all of us who have been playing Counter-Strike for years know all too well how annoying it is to be confronted with a cheater.

Migration to third-party platforms imminent

As we mentioned, if this stays the same way and Valve does nothing to fix the problems of their VAC and VAC Live in the face of cheaters, we will most likely migrate players to FACEIT and ESEA.

We all know that Valve is making a great effort to keep casual and professional players on their official servers. However, playing with cheaters regularly is very annoying, so we all hope they will get a solution sooner rather than later.

On the other hand, we also appeal to those players who like to use cheats. This does not make them more “fun” or better players; on the contrary, they will always receive scorn from the extraordinary community of players of Valve’s shooter.
