Global Esports Tour to take place in Rio until 2025

GEF’s partnership with the Brazilian government will allow the Global Esports Tour to come to Rio in 2023, then in 2024, and finally in 2025. GEF’s goal with this partnership is to boost esports in the South American region. In addition, they want to do it before the first Panam Esports Championships take place, which will take place in parallel with the Pan American Games to be held in Santiago in 2023.

Chris Chan, president of the GEF, was in charge of announcing the news of this partnership, where he commented that the entire organization was happy to be able to bring the Global Esports Tour to Rio de Janeiro for three consecutive years.

On the other hand, Chris Chan commented that Brazil had become a very important market for esports; he also assures that with this tournament, all esports professionals will be able to show all their skills.

But that’s not all; Chris Chan says he is optimistic that the tournaments will strongly boost the development of esports in the South American region.

GEF’s partnership with the Brazilian government

With GEF’s partnership with the Brazilian government, it is planned that the esports scene will significantly improve in various areas of Brazilian society.

It is important to note that the Global Esports Tour is a series of tournaments held throughout the year around the world. In addition, each of the tournaments features a different game.

For its part, the esports title to be contested in Brazil will be chosen shortly.

Rodrigo Castro, the events advisor of the Rio de Janeiro State government, has commented that his government is very happy with this partnership. He also adds that esports has become a way of transforming the lives of young people and helping to increase the state’s economy.

On the other hand, Rodrigo Castro affirms that bringing Rio de Janeiro an esports event of this magnitude is a luxury, where local talent in music, culture, and art is supported. He also commented that the Brazilian government is dedicated to promoting esports in the country and is proud to be able to host this important world-class event.

On the other hand, the president of the Brazilian Confederation of Games and Esports, Paulo Roberto Ribas, commented that this association is a golden opportunity for esports to grow in Brazil.
