Just several weeks after the release of Dota 2 patch 7.33 and then 7.33b, IceFrog decided to release Dota 2 patch 7.33c. And thankfully, he listed to the feedback provided by the community, as well as the statistics offered by platforms like Dotabuff.

Medusa desperately needed a nerf. So did Mirana. And Legion Commander. Meanwhile, heroes like Templar Assassin needed a significant buff to increase their pick rate and win rate.

The meta will absolutely change after this patch. It might not change immediately or radically, but it will change. People will be more careful before picking Medusa against absolutely everything. And they will no longer spam most of the other heroes that were spammed in Dota 2 patch 7.33b.

Big nerfs

silencer

Valve Corporation

Silencer’s Glaives of Wisdom now cost 20 mana instead of 15.

Slark’s Aghanim Pounce got its range reduced by 100, which is a lot and will make people think twice before buying the item.

Riki’s base armor was decreased by 1, his Aghanim’s Shard armor reduction went from +6 to +5, and the Blink Strike replenish time is now 13s at level 4 instead of 10s. All of these are major nerfs that will bring the hero to around a 50-51% win rate.

Pangolier’s base damage was decreased by 10. The hero now deals 4 less damage at level 1. The dash range of his Swashbuckle is now 550 at level 1 instead of 850 at all levels. Both of these nerfs are huge.

Terrorblade’s Sunder no longer works on debuff immune enemies.

Medusa is far less tanky and her Mystic Snake can be cast once every 13s at level 1 instead of once every 10s at all levels. Her Mana Shield gives just +200 at level 5 instead of +200 at level 1. Now, at level 1 it gives +0 mana, which is really bad. And the damage absorbed per mana is 3.6 instead of 4.

Big buffs

death prophet

Valve Corporation

Death Prophet received significant buffs: +15 Crypt Swarm damage, +25 Silence radius, and +5s Exorcism duration.

Chaos Knight is another hero that got buffed: +2 base strength, +30 Chaos Bolt damage, +10% Chaos Strike lifesteal. His talents also received minor buffs.

Batrider now deals +2 damage at level 1, which is a significant buff for this hero.

Templar Assassin received +5 movement speed and +30 Meld damage. She can now move at 310 speed and get to around 500 with the right items. You probably won’t need that much MS, but it’s a possibility. The hero can hit from 700 range with a Dragon Lance and the level 15 talent, so you no longer need to play TA from close range.

Sniper’s Take Aim now provides +200 attack range when activated. This is a huge buff.
