The RLCS 22-23 Spring Cup NA is history. Last weekend, we saw how Complexity Gaming, with a completely imported lineup, managed to take first place in the tournament after defeating the powerful team, Gen.G Mobil1 Racing, with a score of 4-2.

This is an excellent result for a team that showed great dominance throughout the tournament. Moreover, the team fought in such a way that they did not lose a single game until they were proclaimed champions. In addition to the $30,000 in prize money, the team earned 24 RLCS Points, which are undoubtedly very valuable this season.

Complexity Gaming crowned champions of the RLCS 22-23 Spring Cup NA

The talent of imported players in the Rocket League scene in NA is growing, and as esports advance, we see how many players, especially South Americans, shine in the scene.

In this opportunity, we have Complexity Gaming, with two Argentinian players, one Chilean and one Spanish, managed to beat by 4-2 the super powerful Gen.G Mobil1 Racing team, which for many, is the best North American Rocket League team.

Complexity’s road to the Grand Final was relatively clean, as they started with a 3-0 victory over Zero2One. Then, in the quarterfinals of the Upper Bracket, they beat Version1 in a big way with a 3-0 score. As a result, the team had to play for the pass to the Upper Bracket final against OpTic Gaming, which they also defeated with relative ease (4-1). Finally, they faced Gen.G in the Upper Bracket Final and won 4-3 to secure their place in the tournament’s grand final.

Complexity make history

After Lautaro “Reysbull” Gusinsky, Facundo “Shad” Vallerino, and Cristian “ajg” Fernandez dominated the South American region for several seasons; they decided to move to NA to look for new rivals to play at the highest competitive level. As a result of this decision, the players received many offers from several teams, but it was Complexity Gaming managed to acquire the services of this team.

Complexity’s players are completely imported. As a result, they became the first team in the history of the North American Rocket League scene to win a cup with an imported lineup.

However, Gen.G is no slouch either, as two of their players, Jack “ApparentlyJack” Benson and Joe “Noly” Kidd, are from the UK, but Nick “Chronic” Iwanski if born in the US, so they cannot be classified as an imported team.

Complexity beat Gen.G 4-2 in the Grand Final

Undoubtedly, the Grand Final was a really exciting back and forth, as Complexity started very well, winning the first game 4-2. However, then Gen.G Mobil1 Racing woke up to hit back, doubly so, as they managed to win the second and third games with scores of 4-2 and 3-2, respectively.

We all thought Complexity’s luck had run out and Gen. G would completely overwhelm them. But, instead, the “imported” boys gave a big blow on the table to win the next three games with scores of 4-1, 2-0, and 1-0, thus sealing their championship with an overall score of 4-2.
