Evil Geniuses recently surprised fans by benching EG.CD player Anthony “CLASIA” Kearney after just two months since his acquisition. According to a report by Dust2.us, the reason for his benching is that the CS:GO player appeared to have had “lingering attitude issues that weren’t being handled in a way the team was happy with.”

After being placed on the inactive list by EG, the 18-year-old rifler confirmed the rumours himself via Twitter, saying that he’s “very disappointed” in himself. The organization haven’t provided any official statement regarding the roster move.

CLASIA to resign again after 2 months

CLASIA’s time with Evil Geniuses hasn’t lasted for long. He’s only became a part of the organization and its 15-player CS:GO line-up in June this year, when the organization signed Carpe Diem and the Party Astronauts to be part of the Blueprint Project. With this new CS:GO roster concept, Evil Geniuses plans to use different lineups in multiple tournaments at the same time.

Prior to joining Evil Geniuses as a part of the former Carpe Diem roster, CLASIA switched multiple teams including Gaimin Gladiators, ChocoCheck, RBG Esports, Secret Club and Team prospects. His biggest achievements include runner-up finishes at multiple lower-tier CS:GO tournaments such as ESEA Cash Cup NA Spring 2022, Summer 2021 and Winter 2020, and at the ESL Challenger League S40 NA.

Recurring attitude problems

CLASIA’s departure from Evil Geniuses seems to be a disappointing end to what was a promising career opportunity for the young player, but it seems it’s not the first time he’s facing the consequences of the alleged “attitude issues”. Based on Dust2.us’s report, he was let go of the RGB roster for similar reasons.

CLASIA later explained in an interview for Dust2.us that he was working on himself to “become a better teammate” and lamented that his “bad reputation was holding him back”. That said, it is not known what attitude issues hed in the past and now and how they manifest themselves.

EG to reportedly sign stanislaw

EG.CD’s current line-up:

  • Colby “Walco” Walsh
  • Jadan “HexT” Postma
  • Jerric “wiz” Jiang
  • Connor “chop” Sullivan
  • Tommy “Axed” Ryan (Coach)

It looks like Evil Geniuses have already found a replacement for CLASIA in Peter “stanislaw” Jarguz. According to Dust2.us’s report from July 28, the Canadian is set to join the North American team soon.

That’s not the only change in the Evil Geniuses CS:GO line-up this season. On July 28, Stewie2k announced that he was retiring from CS:GO to focus on VALORANT streaming and content creation.
