The Rise Nation has announced the signings of Abdo “c4Lypso” Agha and Ryan “Shanks” Ngo, with the former Team Envy and NRG Esports pros having been added to the teams’ VALORANT roster. The news follows the departure of Chris “riku” Piasecki and coach Erik “da_bears” Stromberg earlier in the month.

The duo will join Todd “anger” Williams, Jason “neptune” Tran, Antonio “Showtime” Angotti and Kevin “poised” Ngo on the team, with anger having seemingly been benched if the Nerd Street Gamer’s March Monthly even is anything to go by. Shanks and poised will reunite following their release by Dignitas in September last year. Shanks was a substitute at the time, while poised parted ways with the team following a mutual termination of his contract.

How The Rise Nation Broke the News

Such changes came at the same time as allegations surrounding match fixing arose, with The Rise Nation’s newcomers, along with FaZe Clan’s Jimmy “Marved” Nguyen having been accused of wrongdoing. The Rise Nation announced the arrival of c4lypso and Shanks over the weekend, posting the following on Twitter: “The rumors are true. Welcome @c4Lypso_ & @Shanks_TTV to #RiseVAL! Time to get to busy. #RISEorDIE

The Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) recently investigated suspicious betting activity during the North American Mountain Dew League. However, with the three players mentioned above having ultimately not been amng the 35 players sanctioend for offences, they will be free to continue competing.

Why the Signings Will Boost The Rise Nation

Fans of The Rise Nation should rightly be excited by the arrival of both c4Lpyso and Shanks, who should aid the team in improving upon its performances and results. The team finished in the bottom half of brackets at recent tournaments, making roster changes unsurprising. Both c4Lypso and Shanks are former CS:GO pros, with the former having competed in the eSEA and FACEIT for some four years.

The Rise Nation is currently placed 22 in the North American VALORANT rankings, with the elimination bracket of the Nerd Street Gamers March Main Event being their current focus.
