The RMRs for the BLAST.tv Paris Major are scheduled to start on April 6. The big event is scheduled for May. But to get there, every single participant must qualify.
Europe is the only region that has two qualification tournaments and will send a total of 17 teams to the upcoming CS:GO Major. That’s because the level of Counter-Strike here is vastly better than anywhere else, at least at the moment.
European RMR A location, dates, and format
The first European RMR will take place between April 6-9 in Copenhagen. This is an offline event, which makes the action a lot more exciting to watch. The venue will be BLAST Studio.
A total of 16 teams will play using the Swiss System Format, which means that elimination and advancement matches are best-of-three while the remaining matches are best-of-one.
The top eight teams qualify for the Major, while the 9th-11th will get one last opportunity in the EU Decider Bracket event.
The top four teams will receive the Legend Status, while the next four teams will get the Challenger Status. This is important because Legends skip the first stage at the Paris Major and only need to survive one Swiss System competition to get to the playoffs.
In a few days, NAVI CS:GO will start a run, but today enjoy the voice comms from the games at the #ESLProLeague S17!

Arguably, the top four teams on the favorites list are the top contenders for those positions. FaZe Clan are likely to finish the tournament undefeated. Na’Vi, VP, and MOUZ will need to play their best to achieve a 3 W – 0 L or at least a 3 W – 1 L result.
One thing that could ruin a lot of plans is an early defeat for more than one of the top favorites. That could easily result in someone important going 0 W – 2 L in the first two matches. Nobody wants to see such a scenario but from time to time it happens.
