Undoubtedly, organizations at the highest competitive level in esports always bet on the biggest and, above all, on having good results in all their divisions. Team Vitality, one of the most successful organizations currently in the competitive esports scene, is one of them, and after the poor results obtained in the VCT EMEA League regular season and after the tragic and, above all, unexpected news of the passing of Karel, “Twisten” Ašenbrener, announced their retirement from the EMEA LCQ.

On the other hand, the organization also announced that they would begin a complete overhaul of their VALORANT roster for the upcoming season. As a result, in the last few hours, they announced that Santeri “BONECOLD” Sassi would be on the team’s bench.

BONECOLD sent to the bench of Team Vitality

Team Vitality announced through a statement on its official Twitter account that BONECOLD is immediately moving to the team’s bench.

As we note, Team Vitality refers to knowing that BONECOLD is an excellent player and, above all, a great leader. However, they consider that it is necessary to make a renewal in the VALORANT squad for the VCT EMEA League 2024 and prepare in the best possible way to return with everything. On the other hand, Vitality also thanked BONECOLD for all his dedication during all the time together, and, finally, they wish him the best of luck in his future.

As mentioned, Team Vitality did not participate in the EMEA Last Chance Qualifier for VALORANT Champions 2023 following Twisten’s passing. As a result, the team was left without a chance to achieve its long-awaited qualification for the VCT Champions 2023. At the same time, this also means that this is the end of Team Vitality’s season, as there are no more official VALORANT competitions for the remainder of the year.

About BONECOLD

The 24-year-old Finn, BONECOLD, came to Team Vitality to take on the role of IGL in May 2022. At that time, the team’s lineup was composed of European talents who were undoubtedly among the top performers in the EMEA scene. In addition, the team was set to take center stage in the first edition of the VCT EMEA League.

There is no doubt that the team performed decently throughout the regular season and even managed to qualify for the playoffs. However, Team Vitality was eliminated in the first game of these playoffs by Team Liquid after losing 1-2. As a result, the team could not get their ticket to the Tokyo Masters, as only the top four teams of the tournament made it.

Now, it only remains to wait for what will be the next destination of the Finnish IGL, BONECOLD, while Team Vitality’s lineup, for now, is as follows:

  • Jokūbas “ceNder” Labutis
  • Michał “MOLSI” Łącki
  • Tomas “Destrian” Linikas
