The VCT EMEA League Regular Season is history, and only the best six teams of the tournament managed to qualify for the next stage, the playoffs. Now, all those who qualified have no margin for error, and each of them will have to leave everything in every game to stay alive and fight for one of the four slots for the Masters Tokyo.

There is no doubt that all eyes are on Fnatic, a team that dominated the regular season from start to finish and was the only one in all VCT regions to have a perfect record in the regular season. In addition, with the incentive of being champions of the VCT LOCK//IN Sao Paulo 2023, they are the favorites for this tournament.

Now, look at everything you need about the VCT EMEA playoffs.

VCT EMEA League Playoffs – Details

The VCT EMEA League playoffs will be played from Tuesday, May 23, 2023, until Sunday, May 28, 2023. The teams will fight throughout this phase to obtain one of the four slots for the next Masters Tokyo. Remember that, as Fnatic were the winner of the VCT LOCK//IN, the EMEA region has an additional quota for the Masters; that’s why there are four slots, not three like the rest of the regions.

Next, we will show you the teams that qualified for the VCT EMEA playoffs.

  • Fnatic
  • NaVi
  • Team Liquid
  • Giants
  • FÜT Esports
  • Team Vitality

There is no doubt that Fnatic is still the clear favorite to win first place in the first edition of the VCT EMEA League. However, teams like Team Liquid and NaVi, who also showed a great level in the tournament’s first phase, must be taken into account.

Format

The format for the VCT EMEA playoffs will be Double Elimination, where all matches are best of three (BO3), except for the Lower Bracket Final and the Grand Final, which are best of five (BO5). As mentioned, the teams will play for one of the four spots for the next Masters Tokyo.

However, Fnatic and NaVi, having finished 1-2 in the regular season, qualified directly to the Upper Bracket semifinals. While the rest of the teams will have to start their fight from the quarterfinals, and, in addition, there is no margin for error, as those who lose this match are immediately eliminated from the tournament.

Schedule

As mentioned, the playoffs will start next Tuesday, May 23, 2023, and the first matches will be from the Upper Bracket quarterfinals.

  • Giants vs. FÜT Esports – 17:00 CEST
  • Team Liquid vs. Team Vitality – 20:00 CEST

As we noted in Riot Games’ Tweet, the winner of the match between Giants and FÜT Esports will face Fnatic next Wednesday, May 24, at 17:00 CEST. While the winner between Liquid and Vitality will face NaVi, on the same Wednesday at 20:00 CEST.

There is no doubt that we will have intense and exciting matches in these VCT EMEA League playoffs. Of course, all teams try to prevent Fnatic from imposing their supremacy. However, they must work very hard for them in each game.
