BLAST.tv Paris Major starts on May 8. But to qualify for the tournament, CS:GO teams will need to go through qualifiers and prove their strength against their regional rivals.

In the American RMR, there will be 16 participants and only six of them will receive an invitation to play in Paris.

American RMR dates, location, and teams

The American RMR for BLAST.tv Paris Major will take place in Monterrey, Mexico, between April 6-9. During these four days of intense competition, 16 teams will be tested to discover which ones are fit to represent America in front of the French crowd.

In recent years, the region has experienced a severe decline in its esports scene, not only in CS:GO but in other games as well. However, a handful of organizations are still strong enough to compete against the world’s best and win from time to time.

These are the 16 teams that will play in the American RMR for BLAST.tv Paris Major:

  • FURIA Esports
  • Team Liquid
  • BESTIA
  • Complexity Gaming
  • Imperial Esports
  • Paqueta Gaming
  • Evil Geniuses
  • Team Solid
  • Nouns Esports
  • 00 Nation
  • LOS + oNe
  • paiN Gaming
  • Fluxo
  • MIBR
  • Flamengo Esports
  • Yur

For CS:GO enthusiasts who watch the American scene regularly, most of these teams should be familiar. But because of the small number of qualification spots that were offered to the region, only the best of the best will get the opportunity to go to Paris.

Favorites

The six competitors that are most likely to qualify for BLAST.tv Paris Major are these:

  • FURIA Esports
  • Team Liquid
  • Complexity Gaming
  • 00 Nation
  • paiN Gaming
  • Imperial Esports

Two other strong teams in the race are Evil Geniuses and Fluxe. Any one of them could easily upset some of the other six and earn a spot at the Major.

In an extreme situation, Team Liquid could lose the qualification. A lot of people are afraid for them, simply because of the poor performance they had in the last few weeks.

But when faced with regional opponents of much lower caliber than the S-tier ones that Liquid are used to playing against, it should be quite easy for Keith “NAF” Markovic and his squad to win.

One of the great aspects of the Swiss System format is that a team cannot get eliminated without losing three matches, one of which is a guaranteed best-of-three. For Liquid to fail in this RMR, they would have to fail repeatedly at pretty much everything they try to do. And that’s not likely to happen.
