This season, BetBoom’s new lineup can be seen going strong in the Dota Pro Circuit. They’ve proven to be one of the standout teams, but that’s no wonder. They have a very strong roster, they’ve rearranged it to make it work, and they’re using a tactic that also won The International.

No other team can match them at the moment. They are unbeaten on the Eastern European leg of the Winter Tour with five wins and not a single loss, making them one of the first teams to qualify for the Lima Major by two games.

Adopted TI10 winning tactic from Team Spirit

According to team offlaner Egor “Nightfall” Grigorenko, they owe a large part of their success to the tactics they adopted from Team Spirit, which the team used to win The International 10 back then. Nightfall switched from Evil Geniuses to BetBoom at the end of last season.

The special tactic comes from Alexander “TORONTOTOKYO” Khertek, who has played an important role in the success of Team Spirit. Now he’s on the BetBoom team as a support player and because of his experience he makes the calls in the late game. Did they steal the tactic? Not directly, because you need TORONTOTOKYO for that.

Nightfall himself has explained in an interview with popular streamer Nix that TORONTOTOKYO is taking the reins in the late game because he’s a “known late game expert” and he makes the same decisions he made on Team Spirit to help them win.

Tundra Esports and Team Liquid are strongest opponents

When asked who their strongest opponents in the league are, Nightfall said that TI11 winners Tundra Esports and Team Liquid are in really good shape and will give them a tough time in scrims. Dota fans can look forward to plenty of action when these teams clash at next month’s Lima Major!

It remains exciting and to be seen whether BetBoom will remain undefeated with their special strategy. Will they find a way to win the series against the strongest teams in Peru as well? Hopefully, we’ll see that soon when the Lima Major kicks off on February 22. That is, provided that it can take place at all. At the moment there are some political protests in Peru, although Lima is allegedly actually largely safeThe unrest in Peru could pose a problem for the tournament.

In addition to the Lima Major, we can also look forward to the Berlin Major and Bali Major this year, for which we don’t have an exact date yet. As a spring tour (Berlin) and summer tour (Bali) we at least know the rough period. Until then we have to be content with the DPC.
