We already know the second finalist of the VCT EMEA League! Team Liquid scored an extraordinary 3-0 victory over FÜT Esports to seal their ticket to the tournament’s Grand Final. While it is true that it was a clean sweep in this Lower Bracket final, the matches were filled with a lot of excitement from start to finish.

On the other hand, it should be noted that the performance of FÜT Esports in this VCT EMEA League was extraordinary, and, in addition to the qualification for the Masters Tokyo, the team must be completely satisfied with everything they achieved. In addition, they also managed to leave in the way of two very powerful teams such as Team Vitality and NaVi.

Let’s see what happened in the VCT EMEA League Lower Bracket final match between Team Liquid and FÜT Esports.

Team Liquid apply a clean sweep to FÜT Esports to qualify for Grand Final

The guys from Team Liquid had completely saved this level of relentless play for the decisive matches of this VCT EMEA League. Undoubtedly, they were superior to FÜT Esports throughout this series, as they managed to take a clean 3-0 sweep. While the second map was very exciting, both the first and third maps were perfectly dominated by Liquid.

The series was played on Ascent (Team Liquid), Lotus (FÜT Esports), and Split (Team Liquid).

Ascent

It all started on Ascent, Team Liquid’s map pick, where we saw a relentless offensive from the Team Liquid guys. In each of the team’s offenses, we could see how the confidence and determination were much greater than that of the Turks, and, as a result, they managed to take a partial victory by 9-3.

Then, at the change of sides, FÜT won the first two rounds on their attacking side to try to wake up and start the comeback. However, Team Liquid did not allow it and took the 13-5 victory.

Lotus

We had a much more intense match in Lotus, as FÜT Esports more than proved why they selected this map. However, the first half was all for the Turks, who demonstrated a spectacular offense and took a 10-2 partial victory.

There is no doubt that, with a 2-10 against, we all thought that Team Liquid would start preparing for the rest of the series. However, it was quite the opposite, as the guys woke up thanks to Igor “Redgar” Vlasov (183 ADR, 270 ACS, and 1.59 Rating) and managed a spectacular comeback to send the match to Overtime.

Then, after several rounds of Overtime, Team Liquid won both rounds in a row to take the 17-15 victory.

Split

Undoubtedly, after the great level we enjoyed at Lotus, we expected the rest of the series to go that way. Unfortunately, however, it seems the Turks used up all the fuel on the second map, as Split was a replica of Ascent.

While it’s true that FÜT started the map by winning three of the first four rounds, that was the team’s only positive moment in this match. Team Liquid reacted quickly to strike back and take a partial victory on their attacking side, 7-5.

At the change of sides, Team Liquid was in charge of denying all of the approaches of FÜT Esports in all the sites on the map. So much so that the Turks could not even plant the Spike. As a result, Team Liquid took the victory on the map with an excellent score of 13-5 and, in addition, sealed their ticket to the Grand Final, where they will face the super-powerful Fnatic team.
