The different qualifiers for the RMR of the BLAST.tv CS:GO Paris Major 2023 continues, and while some teams have taken a step forward in their desire to be in this Major, others have fallen short and must settle for watching it from home.

This is the case of the South American team 9z Team, which failed to overcome the qualifiers for the RMR Americas and, with this, they are left out of the CS:GO Major in Paris. This is sad news for South America’s competitive CS:GO scene, which had this Argentinean organization on a great pedestal.

9z Team misses RMR Americas

As we mentioned, this is unfortunate news for the South American CS:GO scene, as this team made them dream of different top-level competitions, such as the IEM Rio Major 2023.

Although the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 is still a long way off; the different qualifying events (open and closed) have already started to know the qualifiers for the RMR. Last Sunday, the qualifiers in South America closed, and the 9z Team was eliminated after losing in the tiebreaker match against 00 Nation.

With this, the Argentine team ends its excellent streak of attending Majors after incredible feats achieved in the PGL Major Antwerp and the aforementioned IEM Rio Major. Now, they will have to prepare themselves enough to get back to their best level and be able to play in big tournaments again.

Qualifiers for Majors are cruel to some teams

There is no doubt that the qualifiers for the Majors can be very cruel to some teams, and in these weeks, we have witnessed it. First, Movistar Riders failed to reach the RMR in the European region, and now the 9z Team failed in South America. Because of what this team represents in this region, this could be a sensitive loss for South American representation in the RMR.

The Argentinean team’s eighth-place finish left them just short of qualifying for the American RMR, as only seven spots were available.

9z Team’s path in the South American RMR Qualifier

The Argentinean team could not start participating in these qualifiers in the best way. They lost the first match against RED Canids 11-16. This sent them to the Lower Brackets, where they had to draw to beat INTZ (16-3) and Sharks (16-9). Thanks to this, they were one game away from qualifying in round 4 but unexpectedly lost to Fluxo 2-0.

Then, the team had to face ODDIK in round 5 to stay alive in the tournament, and with this 2-0 victory, they had to play the tiebreaker match against 00 Nation. Finally, the Marcelo “coldzera” David team managed to take the victory with a crushing 2-0.

With this, the Argentine team’s hopes of attending their third consecutive Major are over. However, we hope that they will return to their highest competitive level shortly, and we will see them again in the top-level CS:GO tournaments.
