The organization of David Beckham is called Guild Esports and has summed up its first six months since going public. Even though they made millions of dollars in loss they stay optimistic about the future.

The losses of the Guild Esports are quite hefty. In their first half-year report it says that they made a loss of 4.28 million British pounds in the first 6 months. But the organisation keeps insisting that this is nothing out of the ordinary. They say, the loss is due to investments in the business, from infrastructure to content creation to the athletic team. The turnover in the mentioned period amounts to 0.37 million pounds. Guild Esports has been listed on the London Stock Exchange since last fall.

CEO explaining the huge loss

CEO Kal Hourd said optimistically: “Our vision for the future and our strategy are data-driven. With our substantial audience numbers, we now have access to a huge amount of information and insight to build on. Guild’s fan base is a lucrative asset for global brands looking for an authentic way to reach a younger, digitally focused audience. And we continue to explore expansion into additional game titles and countries to accelerate our growth.”

Apparently they reached 800,000 followers at the end of march. The monthly growth amounts to about 50 percent. In total, the entire network reaches an audience of more than 15 million people. This makes Guild Esports “the fastest growing e-sports organization in the world,” among other things, says the report. Four major sponsors have been found so far, with contracted revenues of £7.5 million each. Further supporters are expected to be added in the near future.

Players are performing quite good

In terms of sports, highlights in the period included first and second place in the fifth season of the Fortnite Champion Series, third place in the sixth season, third and fourth place in the
Valorant Champions Tour 1 and 2, and first place in the Rocket League Spring Cup Regional 3. Pre-tax prize money of £0.3 million had been earned.

The company’s own academy is also expected to play a key role in talent development, in addition to expanding its audience, he said. “The fast-growing fan base, attraction of high-level talent and multi-year authentic partnerships are testament to the brand we have built in the short time since we went public,” CEO Hourd is quoted as saying.
