100 Thieves have revealed their complete VALORANT roster for the 2023 VCT season. Alongside the well-known core from last year, former CSET player Cryocells will join the team.

In the upcoming 2023 VCT season, the 100 Thieves VALORANT division will continue building on the lineup they formed in the 2022 season.

100T welcome Cryocells

The organization officially confirmed its line-up for the upcoming season, with former XSET star player Matthew “Cryocells” Panganiban joining the original core from last year, namely Peter “Asuna” Mazuryk, Derrek “Derrek” Ha, Brenden “stellar” McGrath and Sean “bang” Bezerra.

Cryocells is a 19-year-old American who has previously played for XSET, Cosmic Divide, Big Frames, and SoaR, with approximately $30,000 in VALORANT earnings to date. This year, he won the VCT 2022: North Americas Challengers Stage 1 and 2 with XSET and qualified for VALORANT Champions 2022, where they finished 5th-6th.

Cryocells is no substitute for yay

In the video announcement, General Manager Daniel “ddk” Kapadia said that Cryocells would be the best fit for the team, echoing what 100 Thieves founder Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag said on stream following Cryocells’ signing back in September. Like Nadeshot, ddk even challenged the “public perception” that the team only signed Cryocells because Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker didn’t.

“We are very excited about Cryo’s capabilities. He is a player who can react immediately and has a very high mechanical ability. We’re looking for more pace in this position and I think that will allow us to do a lot more with the team.”

Head coach Michael “Mikes” Hockom added that one of the priorities right now is to improve Cryo’s agent pool. Mikes became the 100T Head Coach only recently after he was promoted from his Assistant Coach position, following the sudden departure of Sean Gares last week.

Plans for 2023

Besides praising their latest addition, the 100 Thieves’ leadership also highlighted Bang as being one of the best controller players in North America, which is a remarkable achievement, considering he switched roles just a few months ago. Both the coach and general manager said they look forward to bringing more structure and analytical approaches from the Thieves’ League of Legends division, which continues to thrive. The team should now complete the roster by adding at least one substitute to the line-up.
