Chinese organization Xtreme Gaming has finally revealed their new Dota 2 lineup, which includes three former Azure Ray players Guo “Xm” Hongchen, Lin “Xxs” Jing, and Zhao “XinQ” Zixing alongside

Wang “Ame” Chunyu, a Dota 2 veteran, declared his comeback to professional Dota 2 at the beginning of December, joining Xtreme as their new carry player. He was quickly associated with Ding “Dy” Cong, the team’s fifth position player, who had previously withdrawn from competitive play following his inability to make it to The International (TI) 12.

But up until today, the last three spots remained available. With the acquisition of Lin “Xxs” Jing, Zhao “XinQ” Zixing, and Guo “Xm” Hongchen, Xtreme Gaming finalized the Dota 2 roster. In addition, the organization chose Wang “Liekkas” Yutian, the coach of the Azure Rays, to take over as head coach of the squad in 2024.

After leaving the squad for Azure Ray for a month, Xm and XinQ are returning to Xtreme Gaming. In contrast, coach Liekkas and Xxs are making their debuts with the team. Recently, the newcomers defeated Gaimin Gladiators in the ultimate finals of the ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023, completing a remarkable reverse sweep.  One of XG’s original roster members, Ding “Dy” Cong, is the final piece of the puzzle. During his three years with Vici Gaming from 2018 to 2021, the 26-year-old became well-known and became one of China’s top position five players.

Why Azure Ray is breaking the Major winning roster?

On the other side, Azure Ray’s Dota 2 lineup has experienced rapid growth over the past several months. Following their top four finish at the 2023 Internationals, the Chinese organization severed its links with three of its players and added Xm, XinQ, and Xxs from Xtreme Gaming and Team Aster, respectively. The new team didn’t waste any time proving its mettle, winning a significant honor at ESL One Kuala Lumpur. Just one month later, the three new players are heading to Xtreme as Ame, the legendary Chinese Dota player, returns to competitive gaming.

The Azure Ray players’ decision to move to Xtreme Gaming comes as no surprise. Yang Yiqing founded both organizations and he is known as a stubborn yet determined team owner, who has an intention to see China on the top of the Dota 2 ladder. The new team will debut at the upcoming qualifiers for the BetBoom Dacha 2024 Dubai, which will kick off on 3rd January 2024.
