XSET returns to the Apex Legends competitive scene after signing one of the most potent lineups in North America, the former Team Liquid guys.

As we see from the official post on their Twitter account, XSET has signed the former Team Liquid squad ahead of the 2023 ALGS season.

Among them are the pair of IGL veterans Brandon “Nocturnal” Singer and Brandon “FunFPS” Goombridge, the offseason addition of Nicholas “Sikezz” Odom, and finally, Head Coach Haris “Hodsic” Hodzic.

Fans were enthusiastic about this announcement

Different fans and esports personalities were excited about this new XSET lineup for 2023.

Players from other organizations have also expressed their delight at the signing.

There is no time for anything

The boys of XSET will face their first big battle this Sunday, December 18, when they compete in the NA Regional Finals, with the mission of qualifying for the Split One Playoffs LAN, which will be played in early 2023.

XSET has been one of the most consistent and dominant organizations in NA in recent times, and now with these luxury signings, they are one of the main favorites to take the championship trophy in the playoffs.

This excellent addition from the former Team Liquid squad has made XSET’s return to the Apex Legends competitive scene since July 2022.

Winning lineup

Nocturnal, Fun, and Hodsic were part of the Team Liquid team that established itself as the best team in North America in the second year of the ALGS.

These three players and Zachary “Gild” Dennis led Team Liquid to an excellent $150,000 Split Two prize after finishing second place at the LAN event in Sweden.

Finally, this Liquid team finished 12th place at the ALGS Championship played in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Team Liquid was still going strong without Gild

After a successful second year in the ALGS, Gild decided to leave Liquid and sign for NRG. With this, the organization chose to sign Sikezz, an outstanding player in the controller role, for the third year of the ALGS.

However, the team remained complementary and saw all their successes carry over into this new season in different tournaments and the ALGS.

Team Liquid went from being a modest and regular team to one of the best in North America from one year to the next. Despite this, they announced last September that all their players were open to listening to different offers from other players’ organizations.

This did not lower the team’s guard

The fact that Team Liquid made this announcement did not affect the team’s performance.

Despite knowing they could trade with any team in the league, the Liquid continued their hot streak and finished in first place in the ALGS Year 3 Split as one of the best teams in the world.

This XSET lineup is full of great players who are used to playing at the highest competitive level and are undoubtedly some of the world’s best. So there was no better way for XSET to make a comeback than with a team like this.
