Ahead of the release of the new World of Warcraft expansion Dragonflight, Blizzard Entertainment is set to host two competitive WoW events for both the PvP and PvE communities.

While Xy’mox’s Charity Cache will feature the top PvE World of Warcraft raiding guilds Echo and Team Liquid, the Solo Shuffle Showdown PvP will feature the top DPS and Healers in a battle for a chunk of the $100,000 prize pool.

Xy’mox’s Charity Cache

The Xy’mox’s Charity Cache, which is scheduled to run from September 10-11, will too feature a $100,000 prize pool, however, the winnings will go to one of the two charities represented by the teams.

The European legends Echo will play for Direct Relief, a nonprofit humanitarian organization that focuses on improving the health and lives of people affected by poverty or emergencies. Meanwhile, North American team Liquid will represent AbleGamers, a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to improving accessibility and inclusivity in the gaming space.

The event will see Team Liquid and Echo visit the Castle Nathria and Sepulcher of the First Ones, where they will try to defeat bosses as quickly as possible to earn money for their respective charities. However, there will be a few twists:

  •  All bosses will have at least two Fated Powers activated instead of the usual rotation.
  • Each raid will have two checkpoints that will grant cash to represented charities. The guild that reaches the checkpoint first will get the higher amount to donate.
  • The team that reaches the checkpoint first will receive a Fated Curse modifier, which will make one of the following encounters more chaotic.

Solo Shuffle Showdown

The Solo Shuffle Showdown is a three-day invitational competition that will, for the first time, feature a competitive event in Solo Shuffle brawl mode. From September 23-25, the event will feature 36 Arena players from Europe and North America in three Solo Shuffle matches each.

Invited participants will be selected from among Arena World Championship competitors, PvP ladders, and members of the PvP community.

The player line-up will be split into six lobbies of six players, with random seeding after each match. The top 12 players from each region will then advance to the Finals scheduled for September 25, where each player will compete in two more matches.

Finally, the top six players with the highest scores will face each other in one last match, where the two winners — one DPS and one Healer — will be crowned.

Both Xy’mox’s Charity Cache and Solo Shuffle Showdown will be broadcast live on the official World of Warcraft Twitch and YouTube channels.
