According to reports in recent hours, Rasmus “raalz” Steensborg would be close to closing his signing back to his home a little over a year ago, Sprout.

The movements in the CS:GO competitive scene continue, and in the last few hours, we have seen some teams complete their lineups for the second half of the season. However, there are still other teams like Sprout, which still have not made any announcements regarding their starting lineup, and, most worryingly, they only have one player in their ranks, Rasmus “Zyphon” Nordfoss and Danny “BERRY” Krüger (Head Coach).

On the other hand, this would also be a great addition for Sprout, as the team needs a 180° turnaround to have a better face in the second half of the year.

Raalz would be very close to signing with Sprout

According to a report from the web portal HLTV, the 27-year-old Dane raalz would be very close to signing with Sprout for the second half of 2023 and the transition to CS2.

As mentioned, this move would mark raalz’s return to Sprout after spending just under a year playing under the Copenhagen Flames banner. In addition, this would reunite raalz with BERRY and Zyphon, the only two active members of the Sprout roster.

About Sprout

There is no doubt that the first half of 2023 has been disappointing for Sprout. In addition to the constant changes in their lineup, everything got worse since Ismail “refrezh” Ali decided to leave the team at the end of February.

At that time, Sprout signed a very experienced and veteran IGL to replace refrezh, Aaron “AZR” Ward. However, this move failed, as the team synergy did not come to fruition, and the team did not get positive results.

With AZR as Sprout’s IGL, the team lost almost every match and dropped out of the TOP 50 of the CS:GO world ranking, according to HLTV.

Then, the organization decided to drop AZR to sign Alpha, an 18-year-old Russian somewhat unknown in the scene. However, the team’s results improved significantly, as they managed to take second place in the CCT North Europe Series #5.

About raalz

On the other hand, it’s worth noting that raalz might be very familiar with everything to do with Sprout so far. As mentioned, the 27-year-old Dane played with the German organization in the 2021/2022 seasons.

Moreover, in those seasons, Sprout was one of the best German teams on the competitive scene, and they managed to contest the RMR for the PGL Major Antwerp. At the same time, they were considered one of the best European teams in the Tier 2 scene, and, best of all, they managed to be ranked #19 in the world.

However, raalz signed for the Copenhagen Flames in August 2022, a team currently dissolved after declaring bankruptcy.
