Why is Riot not letting Sneaky, Doublelift, and Meteos co-stream MSI?

Undoubtedly, when all fans want to watch a match in a major tournament, we always want to do it through our favorite streamers or commentators.

In the case of co-streaming in the North American region, LoL fans identified with Zachary “Sneaky” Scuderi, Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng, and William “Meteos” Hartman. Being professional gamers with eloquent personalities, they make the streams they do together a lot of fun. In addition, the three were selected by Riot as the talented team that can stream MSI 2023. However, according to Sneaky, Riot Games does not allow them to do it together.

Riot Games does not allow Sneaky, Doublelift, and Meteos to co-stream MSI simultaneously

When Riot Games released the list of the five talents that could co-stream MSI 2023, many in the community were excited. The eloquences of these five characters, Doublelift, Meteos, Sneaky, Nick “LS” De Cesare, and Christian “IWillDominate” Rivera, make the streams much more fun.

However, as the days passed, fans began noticing that only one could broadcast simultaneously. As a result, questions started towards them regarding why they were not doing the streaming together.

A fan asked the question to Sneaky at the match between BiliBili Gaming and Cloud9 last May 11. Sneaky immediately replied that there was no streaming because Meteos was co-streaming. Moreover, he then mentioned that only one can co-stream at a time.

Sneaky also clarified that he does not know the real reasons why Riot does not allow them to co-stream together. However, he said he doesn’t understand why LS and Dom can.

Co-streaming attempts to be the LCS’s lifeline

Recently, the viewership in the LCS has been declining, and co-streaming by well-known personalities in the North American scene serves as a lifeline for fans. In addition to watching the games of their favorite teams, they can have a good time having fun with the witticisms of their favorite streamers.

On the other hand, many fans have also mentioned that they don’t care about what is being said on the official broadcasts and even call them boring. However, they mention wanting to watch their teams’ games with their favorite streamers.

Now, with this restriction by Riot Games, Sneaky is the one who has come out a little more privileged, as it has managed to transmit more MSI 2023 matches and, in addition, has made some co-streaming together (duos) with Meteos and Doublelift.

The fortunes of the North American teams at MSI 2023 have not been as expected. Golden Guardians is playing their match against JD Gaming in the Upper Bracket quarterfinals. While Cloud9, the other NA representative, is waiting for its opponent in Round 1 of the Lower Bracket.
