The finale of the FIFAe World Cup in the single-player competition, which took place last Saturday at the Bella Arena in Copenhagen, crowned German player Umut Gültekin as its new Champion. Umut, who started for RB Leipzig Gaming, was able to assert himself against one of the favourites, Argentinian Nicolas99fc. In an exciting but goalless final, Umut won the penalty shoot-out with a narrow margin of 5-4.

Umut dominated the competition from the group stage to the end of the tournament. The freshly crowned world champion did not concede more than one goal in any match in the knockout phase. After Mohammed “MoAuba” Harkous, Umut is the second German world champion in a row. The main reward was a whopping $250,000 in prize money.

RB Leipzig’s Umut wins FIFAe World Cup

Umut came into the tournament as a secret favourite and dominated the group stage, where he finished in the first place. The Brazilian “Young” was waiting for him in the round of 16. But Umut didn’t give him a chance and sent him home with a 2-0 score.

In the quarterfinals, Umut lost the first game 1-0 to Argentinian “Matiasbonanno9”, but in the second game, he came back brilliantly and dominated his opponent 4-0. Dutchman “EmreYilmaz” was waiting for him in the semifinals, but Umut was able to defeat him in both games and thus entered the final, which he ultimately won. With this performance, Umut joined the elite group of FIFAe world champions.

Next tournament starts tomorrow
