We’ve been reading the news for several weeks about the changes coming in season 2 of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2. However, very little attention has been paid to what our beloved DMZ mode will bring.

Season 2 will be a 180° change for all those Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 lovers. But those who spend all day looting, fulfilling missions, contracts, and exfiltrating in Al Mazrah in DMZ mode will also face a sound wave of changes.

Read on to find out what these changes we’re talking about.

Warzone 2 DMZ mode changes

At the start of the second season of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, players who love the DMZ mode will experience updates and a considerable reboot. The first thing you will notice is that there will be a slight reset regarding inventory. Because of this, players will lose any contraband weapons and stored keys.

All DMZ mode players will start with the initial set of Smuggler weapons.

New faction missions

We have some bad news on the faction missions front, as these are being reset in Warzone 2 Season 2 and will be updated. However, this will allow players to earn experience and new rewards, such as weapon skins and cosmetics.

All those permanent contents you earned during these months in DMZ mode will remain in your inventory, so don’t worry about it. As well as the secured weapon slots unlocked.

New exclusion zone

In season 2, one of the updates that DMZ mode brings with it will be a new exclusion zone on Ashika Island. In addition, there will also be a new faction called “Crown”. However, this new faction and its respective missions will only be available to players with the Modern Warfare 2 game.

This new exclusion zone will be different from Building 21. Players will not need a specific card to access Ashika Island. But, as we are used to, they will have to face the main boss of the zone called Bombmaker in this new exclusion zone. His location on the island is unknown; however, it has been revealed that he has a precious weapon box you can grab if you have defeated him.

DMZ mode will also include a new contract called Boss Hideouts. This contract will “challenge even the most seasoned operators” and will be accessible on all maps.

If you have the entire game, we now have some wonderful news for you. Since you can obtain priceless operator skins, weapon blueprints, and contraband weaponry.

DMZ Season 2, MW2, and Warzone 2 will officially launch on February 15.
