Virtus.pro And Heroic Complete List Of IEM Dallas 2024 Lineup

All sixteen participants for IEM Dallas 2024 have been decided after the conclusion of the European Closed Qualifier, with Virtus.pro and Heroic rounding out the list of teams. The two teams qualified at the cost of ENCE and Metizport.

VP Steamroll Through The Upper Bracket

The highest-ranked team in the European Qualifier, Virtus.pro, was expected to be the first team out of the bracket. Living up to expectations, the Russian squad breezed through the competition and qualified for Dallas.

VP is known to be a slow-starter at times, which was shown in their first match against the young squad of B8. On Inferno, their map pick, Virtus.pro dropped the ball after a disastrous Counter-Terrorist side, conceding the first map 9-13. However, the favorites easily bounced back after stomping B8 13-6 and 13-9 on Anubis and Ancient, respectively.

Next on the hit list was Apeks, a team on the rise, ranked 11th in the world. Virtus.pro convincingly took their map pick of Overpass with a clean 13-6 win. However, Apeks struck back on Anubis after clenching a tight 13-11 game. Though it came down to the wire on Mirage, Virtus.pro could still win the series after another nail-biting 13-11 map. 

In the qualification match, Virtus.pro faced Heroic, who, on paper, should be their toughest opponent yet. Though Jame and company could take the series 2-0, it was much closer than fans would think. Both maps, Overpass and Mirage, were super close, but Virtus.pro managed to win both 13-10 and 13-11 to book tickets to the States. 

Heroic Claim The Second Slot To Dallas

Heroic started their IEM Dallas Qualifier run with a Danish derby, facing dupreeh’s squad Preasy. Both teams traded their opponent’s map pick, with Heroic winning Nuke 13-4 and Preasy hitting back on Vertigo 13-9. 

The series came down to Ancient, where the Preasy side looked like they’d take the win after a strong 9-3 Terrorist half. However, kyxsan called a masterclass second half, as Heroic could come back with a 10-2 Terrorist side to win 13-11. 

TeSeS and the team faced a tough opponent in the second round, gla1ve’s Polish boys, ENCE. It was a competitive series, with both teams barely taking their map picks of Ancient and Nuke. In the decider, Overpass, Heroic posted eight Terrorist rounds to bag an easy 13-5 win over ENCE.

As covered earlier, Heroic was then dropped to the Lower Bracket after a 0-2 loss against Virtus.Pro. In the Consolidation Final, the Heroic squad was greeted by Metizport, a young Swedish roster who has been on the rise. 

Fortunately for Heroic fans, the Swedes did not pose too much of a threat, as Heroic could easily win the series 2-0 after 13-4 and 13-5 results on Vertigo and Anubis, claiming the final slot of the European Qualifier.

IEM Dallas 2024 features a prize pool of $250,000, and will be held in the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, United States. The tournament will run from May 27 to June 2.
