Just a week ago, the popular streamer Jeremy “Disguised Toast” Wang formed a VALORANT team and introduced his players. Shortly after, Team Disguised took part in the first VCT Challengers Open Qualifier and easily made it into the top four, which secured them a spot in the NA Challengers League.

The Disguised line-up quickly landed in the upper bracket, beating Oxygen Esports 7-0 in the semifinals.

According to his own words, Disguised Toast is very happy with the success of the team who are now able to compete in the Challengers Split 1 as well. How did the streamer’s team fare and what’s next for them?

DSG players perform well

The content creator streamed all of his team’s games and was happy with the performance. After his team’s victory, he said:

“I’m so happy, especially because I don’t have to fire anyone. I’m not made for such conversations. Oh they played so well! Kudos to Ocean, man. He built this team from scratch!”

With this win, DSG qualified for Challengers Split 1. The lineup of the team looks like this:

  • Joshua “Steel” Nissan
  • Drake “Exalt” Branly
  • Damion “XXiF” Cook
  • Amgalan “Genghsta” Nemekhbayar
  • Joseph “Clear” Allen

The team had only trained together for two months before entering the Open Qualifier – quite an achievement and quite an impressive winstreak. DSG defeated teams like Coconut Munchers, Entertainment District, Drift, Team Fish Taco, Where is Fullerton, Oxygen Esports and NCIS. They lost two maps to Team Fish Taco and Where is Fullerton, but that wasn’t enough to stop their winstreak.

What’s next for DSG?

The VCT Challengers Split 1 begins on February 1 and runs until March 17. This is where the Disguised line-up will have to prove itself again, but this time, the competition will be even tougher.

But before that happens, this week’s Challengers Last Chance Qualifier runs through January 22, when the top two teams get the opportunity to secure a place in the Challengers Split 1. The tournament 1 will see teams like FaZeClan, M80, Shopify Rebellion, G2 Esports, TSM, The Guard, Team BreakThru, Dark Ratio, Oxygen Esports, and of course DSG go head-to-head.

After a stunning 7-0 assist in the Open Qualifier, the prospects for Disguised Toast’s squad are looking rosy, but will the newly-formed team hold their own against their biggest rivals, G2 or TSM? The VCT split promises to be exciting and we’ll soon see who can prevail as the best team!
