VALORANT player Patiphan from Talon Esports has announced that he will be taking a break from tournaments and competitions for the time being. The break is indefinite for now.

It’s not a bad idea to take a break if you can afford it, as burnout and mental health problems are still a real issue in esports.

Talon star Patiphan retires for the time being

Talon Esports is currently going through a phase of upheaval and realignment. After a disappointing 2023 season, in which the team missed out on participating in the VCT Masters Tokyo and the VALORANT Champions competition, they strengthened their roster with several new players. Seungmin Oh “ban” Joseph, Peter “Governor” No and Lionel “lenne” Lim was a lineup together with the experienced IGL Thanamethk “Crws” Mahatthananuyut and the well-known Thai VALORANT player Patiphan. The team’s goal is to improve on the results of 2023 and show a stronger presence in the upcoming season.

However, Talon Esports is now facing a challenge as Patiphan Chaiwong, one of their prominent players, announced that he will be taking an indefinite break from VALORANT competition. He says that he wants to take this time off to take care of his mental health. This move could be an additional hurdle for Talon Esports on the road to a successful turnaround.

Talon Esports has recently confirmed that VALORANT player Patiphan will be taking time away from esports to focus on personal wellbeing.

The exact timing of his return remains undetermined, but the organization is fully behind his decision and plans to support him during his time away from the organization.Patiphan, known for his performance in VALORANT competitions, has stated that he feels less and less enjoyment and passion for competitive gaming. He finds himself feeling that continuing with the team would be inappropriate under these circumstances. This is not the first time that the player has had to take a break. The previous breaks had to do with injury and a switch back to Overwatch Esports.

Who could replace Patiphan?

There are already rumors about who could replace him: Jittana “JitboyS” Nokngam could step in as Patiphan’s replacement, he’s definitely the organization’s first choice as a replacement player for the team.JitboyS has appeared as a substitute for the team several times in tournaments in 2023, especially towards the end of the year.He will help the lineup bridge the gap without Patiphan and support the lineup until the player has recovered and feels ready to dive back into esports.
