Ranked Mode coming soon in Warzone 2

While it is true that season 2 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 has just started, Activision has already shown some previews regarding the upcoming season 3.

They will be different additions for both multiplayer and Battle Royale modes. However, there is still a long way to go in this new season, as we are only three days since the game’s second major update.

Ranked mode in Warzone 2

As we mentioned, there is still a long way to go in this season 2 of Warzone 2. In only three days, we still haven’t had enough time to learn the new map, Ashika Island thoroughly. However, Resurgence is still being adapted by the players, and the new 1v1 Gulag has been great.

The Call of Duty UK account revealed details about the new content that season 3 will introduce to the game, including the Gunfight and Plunder mode and a Ranked Mode added to the Battle Royale. The developers confirmed the highly-acclaimed competitive mode Warzone 2.

Undoubtedly, adding a Ranked mode to Warzone 2 is a spectacular way to increase competitiveness in the scene. However, many players may think that this new mode will become the cradle of Warzone 2 Tryhards, and this could make the games less fun.

Activision wants to make up for lost ground

Let’s remember that the launch of MWII and Warzone 2 several months ago was not as expected by the developers. Many community members, especially from Warzone 2, stayed away from the game due to the new features of the new release. However, Activision is going all out to win back all these players.

In addition to Ranked mode in MWII, for Season 3, we will have Plunder mode in Warzone 2 and Gunfight in Modern Warfare 2. Activision is desperately looking to attract those players it has been losing due to its neglect of Warzone 2 gameplay. However, there is no doubt that Battle Royale is the cornerstone of this franchise since at least it has been since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic.

However, this has also brought some dissatisfaction concerning frequent players of Modern Warfare 2. In addition, many claims that the multiplayer lacks content compared to Warzone 2.

However, this is not the first time this has happened. The developers tend to put all their effort into improving the BR rather than the multiplayer. Additionally, we can consider that in the updates before the arrival of season 2, most of the added content was for Warzone 2.

Season 3 of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 does not have a release date yet. However, we can expect it to arrive when the day counter of the Season 2 Battle Pass reaches zero.
