The ALGS Split 1 Playoff left us with one of the most spectacular competitions we have seen in the history of Apex Legends. However, for many, the result was wholly expected, as the winner was the same as always, TSM.

TSM crowned champion of ALGS Split 1 Playoffs

There is no doubt that TSM came into this tournament as the team to beat, but unfortunately for the rest of the teams, they failed to do so. Instead, the team took first place in the Group Stage and qualified for the finals through the Winner’s Brackets. In other words, TSM perfectly fulfilled all expectations, dominated the tournament, and was a deserved winner.

But, there is no doubt that the last game they played in the finals was the icing on the cake, as the team demonstrated their extraordinary competitive level.

Controversial Valkyrie Skyward Dive gives victory to TSM

The match that was in charge of defining the tournament champion started with NRG, TSM, Acend, and XSET sweeping their rivals. However, in the end, TSM was able to show great determination to snatch the victory from NRG, who was in the lead during the entire final phase.

Now, after much controversy regarding the Valkyrie Skyward Dive, which affected Moist Esports at the beginning of the tournament, TSM has cleared all doubts regarding this ability. The team’s final victory was thanks to a perfect “Valk Ult” of one inch on the map. This made the TSM guys move to a more open space, where the rest of the teams would have to rotate.

After eliminating several teams, they found themselves in an excellent 3v3 battle against Acend. The EMEA giant also had a spectacular tournament and could give the blow on the table and take the crown away from TSM. However, TSM did not miss any of the opportunities, and besides, this team has much more battle skills playing Seer and Horizon than Acend.

NRG was unable to secure the victory

Undoubtedly, it was also an excellent tournament for the NRG boys, who stayed ahead throughout the finals. However, they could not find victory and finished in second place.

NRG started the finals with 20 kills and was shaping up to be the champions. In any other series they played, NRG would have won the champions trophy in 4 games. However, in this match point format, the team needed to finish in an excellent position to take win.

This can be frustrating for NRG, but this is their best performance in a LAN tournament. Especially for the guys on the team who have never shown such a high level of play in grand final matches in other tournaments.

Acend finished in third place, while XSET finished in fourth place. Finally, Alliance, Moist Esports, ONIC Esports, Fnatic, Element 6, and Luminosity closed the TOP 10 of the tournament.
