Riot announces an update that changes the minimum requirements and leaves out the players least upgraded computers.

Riot Games has announced a controversial update for VALORANT. The tactical shooter developed by the creators of League of Legends will receive a new update on March 14 that will stop supporting all those computers with a Windows version lower than Windows 10. Unfortunately, this means that players using Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 can no longer play VALORANT.

This decision has been taken to make the fight against cheaters more effective. According to the developer, they can use the latest tools and patches that make cheating more difficult.

A significant modification of VALORANT minimum requirements

The truth is Riot Games is usually very conservative regarding raising or lowering the system requirements of its video games. For example, when it modified League of Legends last time, it ensured it only affected a small proportion of players. Riot Games believed that the benefits outweighed the drawbacks. After all, its games are played in many regions of the world where the socioeconomic situation or level of purchasing power differs from Europe, Canada, or the United States.

In any case, upgrading to Windows 10 should not be too problematic. Although the operating system consumes additional resources, the difference is less noticeable than expected. In this sense, it will be rare that there will be too many problems beyond the personal affinities of the users. Remember that, in addition, it can be upgraded for free in most cases. If you do not know how to update the operating system to Windows 10, you can look for professional help to facilitate the task. Or, on the contrary, consult guides on the Internet so that you can do it on your own.

New VALORANT minimum requirements

Now players will have to have at least the following:

  • Windows 10 (64-bit)
  • At least 4 GB of RAM
  • Intel Core i3-370M processor or higher
  • Intel HD 3000 graphics card or higher
  • Minimum of 2 GB of storage

While they may seem like quite a few updates, Riot Games has assured gamers that the new requirements shouldn’t pose a problem for most PC users.

Numerous updates are coming soon to the game

It would be unfortunate if we lost access to VALORANT right now. However, significant updates are coming to the game very soon.

Riot Games has announced the release of two of the most anticipated game types and the arrival of a new agent. The average quality of the games will also be higher if the developers take advantage of the setting and there are fewer cheaters.

All in all, Riot Games has announced some significant changes regarding VALORANT’s minimum requirements. Unfortunately, some players must upgrade their hardware and software to continue playing. However, it also means that players can enjoy new features and content that could make the game even more enjoyable.
