The Next Teamfight Tactics Patch Date Revealed

The next big update coming to the autobattler Teamfight Tactics in 2024 is Riot Games’ new Set 11 called “Inkborn Fables.” When Patch 14.6 hits March 20th, 2024, players of the popular game mode can expect a mystical new cast of characters and a fresh new gameplay mechanic.

Inkborn Fables – A Legendary New Set

According to details from Riot, Inkborn Fables will transport players into a realm of myths and legends. The new set promises to introduce an exciting roster of units inspired by fabled heroes and fantastical beings from classic tales. 

 While specific champions and traits have yet to be announced, Riot has hinted that Inkborn Fables will feature the “Encounters” system – a new gameplay mechanic designed to break the mold of the classic TFT experience.

Encounters are still unknown for now, but this new mechanic should provide some much-needed strategy and decision-making in the core autobattler experience.

The TFT team at Riot has also laid out the full 2024 patch schedule so players can plan for the new set.

2024 Patch Calendar

As a live-service title, Teamfight Tactics is regularly updated to keep things fresh and interesting. Riot patches approximately every two Wednesdays throughout the year, with a standard bi-weekly schedule throughout most of the year.

However, some exceptions are due to company holidays and other exceptional circumstances. To be transparent, developers have announced all major 2024 patch dates in advance:

• Patch 14.17 – August 28th
• Patch 14.18 – September 11th
• Patch 14.19 – September 25th

Based on this roadmap, we can expect the Set 11 “Inkborn Fables” PBE (Public Beta Environment) to go live around March 5th, 2024 – approximately two weeks before the full launch.

This aligns with Riot’s typical PBE schedule, where major set updates are first tested on the PBE server to identify and address any issues before an official release.

Looking Ahead – More Updates on the Horizon

While Patch 14.6 brings the much-anticipated Inkborn Fables set, Riot’s roadmap suggests even more content is on the way for Teamfight Tactics fans.

After Set 11, players will have Set 12 all about magic. Details are still scarce, but this set is bound to please autobattler fans.

Strangely enough, Riot has decided to keep Set 13’s theme a secret for now. But there is already speculation within the TFT community that this future update might tie into the recently announced Arcane Season 2, which premieres on Netflix in November 2024.

A set based on Arcane would be a dream come true for the popular cartoon and League of Legends universe it references.

Additionally, Riot is announcing a special game mode to coincide with Teamfight Tactics’ 5th anniversary in June 2024 as well as another Set Revival event in July.

Set Revivals give players a chance to revisit and enjoy sets from TFT’s past–a treat for diehards and an opportunity for younger players to experience sets they may have missed.

As the autobattler genre continues to grow, Riot Games will continue to provide new content and updates to keep Teamfight Tactics competitive.
