Team Vitality destroy NaVi to qualify for Gamers8 2023 semifinals

The Gamers8 2023 excitement continues, and we already have the first team qualified for the tournament’s semifinals, Team Vitality. The current champions of the Paris Major beat NaVi in the quarterfinals of Gamers8 to confirm their status as favorites and, in addition, leave on the way a team that still can’t find a place after the changes in the lineup a few weeks ago.

Likewise, it’s worth noting that, with each passing tournament and each match they play, NaVi’s lineup seems to be slightly more settled. However, something is still missing for them to finish stepping up to be the powerhouse we all know them to be again.

Team Vitality apply a clean sweep against NaVi

As we mentioned, Team Vitality continues to demonstrate an exceptional level of play in each of the tournaments they participate in, and, this time, NaVi was their second victim in Gamers8 2023. In a match that generated a lot of hype in the community, the current Paris Major champions applied a clean sweep against Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyljev and NaVi to advance to the tournament’s semifinals.

The series was contested by Mirage (NaVi) and Nuke (Team Vitality).

Mirage

The Gamers8 2023 quarterfinal action started at Mirage, NaVi’s map pick, where we witnessed a real beating by Team Vitality. In the first half, Vitality’s Israeli duo, Shahar “flameZ” Shushan and Lotan “Spinx” Giladi, along with Emil “Magisk” Reif, were in charge of stopping NaVi’s advances to take a solid 13-2 victory.

Then, at the change of sides, the NaVi boys had their arms completely down and fell by a dreadful score of 16-2.

Nuke

Things changed a bit in Nuke, as NaVi got a way to deploy its best level of gameplay. However, this was not enough, as Team Vitality continued to show their great ability and level of play to take the victory by 16-11.

In the first half, Team Vitality took a narrow 8-7 victory on their T-side, which undoubtedly gave them a clear advantage going into the rest of the match. Then, in the second half, NaVi took a 10-8 lead after winning the first three rounds. However, this was the only positive for the Ukrainian squad, as, Vitality woke up immediately and won 8 of the next 9 rounds to seal their 16-11 victory.
