VCT Champions 2023 playoffs Preview

After several days in an intense Group Stage, we have the best eight teams of the tournament and, at this moment, of the world, will fight in the VALORANT Champions 2023 playoffs.

The matches in the Group Stage were really exciting, and we were able to observe the level of play of different teams and some surprises that, without a doubt, left many stunned in the competitive scene. However, tournament favorites like Fnatic, LOUD, Paper Rex, and Evil Geniuses qualified easily.

On the contrary, teams like NaVi, Team Liquid, NRG, and T1 were left out of the playoffs after a disappointing Group Stage.

VCT Champions 2023 Playoffs – Details

As mentioned, the top eight teams from the Group Stage will be present in the VALORANT Champions 2023 playoffs starting on August 16, 2023. After the end of the Group Stage, Riot Games announced the pairings of the first playoff matches on its Twitter account.

Two teams from each region will fight to become the 2023 World Champion of VALORANT.

As we note, the eight teams that qualified for the VALORANT Champions 2023 playoffs are as follows:

• Fnatic
• LOUD
• Paper Rex
• FÜT Esports
• DRX
• Bilibili Gaming
• Evil Geniuses
• EDward Gaming

These teams will fight for the world champions trophy and, above all, to become the best VALORANT lineup in the world.

On the other hand, it is also worth noting that, since the creation of VALORANT Champions, this will be the first time we will have Chinese teams in the tournament playoffs. In addition, it is also fair to mention that two teams from each region of the world will be present at this stage of the tournament, i.e., 2 teams from EMEA, the Americas, the Pacific, and China.

Format and Match Schedule

The VALORANT Champions 2023 playoffs format is a Double-elimination bracket, where all matches are best-of-three (BO3) except the Lower Bracket Final and Grand Final, which are best-of-five (BO5).

Here is the schedule for the first day of the VALORANT Champions 2023 playoffs:

• Fnatic vs. LOUD – August 16 at 21:00 CEST
• Paper Rex vs. FÜT Esports – August 17 at 00:00 CEST
• DRX vs. Bilibili Gaming – August 17 at 21:00 CEST
• Evil Geniuses vs. EDward Gaming – August 18 at 00:00 CEST

As we observe, we will have the rematch between Fnatic and LOUD of that VCT LOCK//IN Sao Paulo 2023, and, in addition, it is the clash between the two best VALORANT teams in the world today. However, the rest of the matches will also be exciting because much more than a qualification to the playoffs is at stake from now on.
