Team Vitality crowned champions of RLCS Spring Major

The emotions of the RLCS Spring Major are over, and we have Team Vitality crowned champions of the tournament after an excellent victory in the Grand Final against Team BDS by 4-2.

Team Vitality’s Road in the RLCS Spring Major

There is no doubt that Team Vitality arrived as the clear favorite to take the champion trophy in this Major. In addition to being a very strong team, Team Vitality had won all the tournaments played in the European region before starting this last Major of the season.

The team had a somewhat complicated start in the RLCS Spring Major because after beating Elevate (the best team in APAC) by 3-1, they had to face the powerful NA team, Complexity Gaming. However, after five spectacular games, the team won 3-2 to advance to the Upper Bracket semifinals.

Next, Team Vitality faced Team BDS, a team that came into this match with a lot of confidence after defeating Gen.G Mobil1 Racing, one of the best Rocket League teams in the world, in their first UB match. As a result, they managed to take the victory against Team Vitality with a crushing score of 4-1.

Team Vitality is playing for their lives in the Lower Bracket

After losing to Team BDS, Team Vitality had to play for their lives in every match they played in the Lower Bracket. Moreover, their first match was none other than Gen.G Mobil1 Racing. While it is true that Gen.G was NA’s last hope in this tournament, the European squad managed to apply a clean sweep (4-0) to advance to the Lower Bracket semifinal.

In the Lower Bracket semifinal match, Team Vitality applied the same dose against Rule One, one of the surprise teams of this tournament. While it is true that the series ended with a resounding 4-0 score, there is no doubt that Rule One was a very tough nut to crack, as three consecutive overtimes were played.

Finally, in their quest to stay alive in the tournament, Team Vitality had to face Karmine Corp in the final of the Lower Bracket. Let’s remember that KCorp is one of the toughest opponents for Vitality in the European Rocket League scene, and they proved it in this series.

After seven extraordinary games, Team Vitality took the victory by 4-3 to qualify for the Grand Final of the RLCS Spring Major, where they would face Team BDS.

Team Vitality take revenge against Team BDS

Finally, Team Vitality went into the RLCS Spring Major Grand Final match with the firm conviction of avenging the defeat against Team BDS in the UB semifinals.

In the first series, Team Vitality outplayed Team BDS, and they couldn’t keep up with their rivals’ pace and level of play. Then, in the second heat, Team Vitality relied on the home crowd to crush Team BDS in every way and take the victory.

As a result, Team Vitality was crowned champions of the RLCS Spring Major after a categorical demonstration of superiority against Team BDS.
