After a superb run in the second half of 2022 and a dip in performance in recent months, Team Secret has decided to make two changes to its Dota 2 lineup.
Team Secret, the current runner-up in The International 11, has had a dreadful start to the 2023 season. The team had terrible results in the Western European DPC Winter Tour and was relegated to the second division of the circuit.
This terrible result caused the organization to bench two key members, Baqyt “Zayac” Emiljanov and Roman “Resolut1on” Fomynok.
Team Secret surprises by benching Zayac and Resolut1on
Last Tuesday, March 7, Team Secret announced through a Twitter post that the self-proclaimed “best offlane duo,” Zayac and Resolut1on, would be benched for the poor results obtained by the team at the beginning of the season.
It wasn't an easy decision to make but today we wish farewell to our offlane duo, Resolut1on & Zayac.
They will be placed on the inactive roster until we can find a fitting home for them.
We thank them for the crazy journey we shared and wish them the best ahead 🤍#SecretDota pic.twitter.com/wDSwzTXW8V

As we note, the announcement states:
“It wasn’t an easy decision to make but today we wish farewell to our offlane duo, Resolut1on & Zayac.
They will be placed on the inactive roster until we can find a fitting home for them.”
This leads us to believe that while Zayac and Resolut1on will not compete with Team Secret in the next DPC Tour, they are not free agents either.
Zayac and Resolut1on lifted Team Secret in 2022
This pair of players joined Team Secret in the 2022 season when the team was in a terrible situation. So bad was the moment the team was going through. Their chances of qualifying for The International were practically nil.
Zayac was the first to be signed as a substitute to replace Yazied ” YapzOr” Jaradat, who decided to step away from the Dota 2 competitive scene due to health problems. A couple of weeks later, Resolut1on followed suit to replace Daryl “iceiceice” Koh.
With this new duo in the offlane, Team Secret managed to raise its head and gradually found a spectacular level of play. As a result, the boys finished in the TOP 4 of the Riyadh Masters 2022, the TOP 3 of the ESL One Malaysia 2022, and the surprise at The International, where they managed to finish in second place. Remember that Team Secret qualified for The International after competing in the last-chance qualifiers.

Undoubtedly, second place in The International surprised the fans, the players, and the organization. The team’s roster stayed together thanks to this excellent performance, except for a tiny change. However, the level shown after the miraculous result at the TI was deficient.
Puppey is very touched by this decision
Undoubtedly, the absence of Michał “Nisha” Jankowski affected the team in the DPC Winter Tour 2023. However, this terrible result demanded that the squad make drastic changes, however painful.
In a letter written by Clement “Puppey” Ivanov addressed to Zayac and Resolut1on, the player expressed his gratitude for joining Team Secret and being a key pillar of the organization’s success in 2022.
Our captain Puppey shared a few thoughts on our recent roster change.#SecretDota pic.twitter.com/2wFji0W6rb
