Team Liquid sings all-female VALORANT line-up from Brazil

The North American Team Liquid has signed an all-female VALORANT team from Brazil. The lineup was formerly called Gamelanders Purple and will compete in VCT Game Changers in the upcoming 2022 season. Team Liquid has ventured into new territory by signing an all-female Brazilian lineup.

This lineup consists of Paola “drn” Caroline, Ana Beatriz “naxy” Gomes, Paula “bstrdd” Nagiul, Natália “nat1” Meneses and Natália “daiki” Vilela. The players will continue to be coached by 27-year-old Brazilian André “palestra” Gomes under Liquid, who wants to push his team even further this year to show everyone in the scene what potential the women have. However, the team will be renamed with the takeover and will bear the name Liquid Brazil in the future.

Promising prospects

The girls from Gamelanders Purple have already shown what they can do in the Brazilian Game Changers Circuit last year. The Brazilian women’s team is very promising, winning 13 tournaments including Protocolo: Gêneses, Protocolo: Evolução and Copa Rakin Season 2, as well as two top-32 finishes at the VCT 2021 Brazil Stage Two Challengers Open Qualifiers.

In the official statement from Steve Arhancet, co-CEO of Team Liquid, it says, “We are incredibly excited to have Team Liquid BR as Liquid Entertainment’s newest team. They’ve worked incredibly hard on fine-tuning their skills and are ready to show the world what they’re capable of.” Fans were enthusiastic about the Brazilian team and the announcement tweet about Liquid Brazil quickly had 18,000 likes.

Brazil as an emerging region for Esports

The Brazilian region holds a lot of potential, some of which has not been promoted enough. Team Liquid has also recognized this and is accordingly looking for new players in this region. Team Liquid already has Brazilian pros in Rainbow Six Siege, Fortnite and Free Fire under contract.

Recently, Team Liquid made it to the semi-finals of the first VALORANT World Championship, VCT Champions 2021. Team Liquid Brazil will now put in the work and try to qualify for the VCT Game Changers LAN event. The Game Changers were a massive success last year and will therefore be held as a LAN event again this year. It will definitely be exciting to see how the girls will do under their new banner this year.
